Yoga Breathe and Stretch
Stretch and open up blocked paths and eliminate toxins through breathe.
Many people start yoga for physical reasons: to complement a fitness program, to heal an injury, to increase flexibility and strength, or to promote physical health. Yoga postures affect every aspect of our physical being:
 health and fitness are enhanced
mental clarity and concentration are increased
physical strength improves posture, balance and
  alignment
flexibility is regained thereby helping to prevent
injuries and to keep us supple

Still other people are in search of relaxation methods. The breathing practices are the foundation and the link between the mind and the body, providing a valuable tool for releasing tension and reducing stress. Breath awareness exercises and relaxation techniques provide:
 a way of slowing down
 a method for releasing stress
a path to increasing vitality and mental/emotional
  wellness

On the other hand, there are people who begin yoga as a path to spiritual awareness. When yoga exercises are part of a general training of mindfulness - and not just physical workout - they offer an immense support to an intensive meditation practice. The practice of hatha yoga teaches us:
a technique of personal development that is non-
  competitive
a spiritual path that is essential if life is to grow in
  depth and in vision
how to quiet the mind by placing attention on the
breath and on the   movement (stillness) of the
  body.
What is Yoga

The word Yoga comes from the Sanskrit root "yuj" meaning to yoke, attach, join or bind. Yoga is therefore the union and integration of every aspect of a human being, from the innermost to the external. It is a rich, time-honored teaching on how we can achieve physical health, psychological well being and spiritual peace. It is a path of self-discovery that leads to balance and harmony. Through the practice of yoga we integrate all aspects of our being - physical, mental, emotional and spiritual - and discover our connection to ourselves, to others and to the universe. Yoga offers us a way to make beneficial and wholesome changes in our lives that will enable us to have a healthy, happy and peaceful way of daily living.

There are numerous systems of yoga, each providing different ways to unify the various aspects of our selves and to lead us to freedom. Hatha yoga is the system most familiar to the westerner. This branch of yoga uses physical poses, breathing techniques and relaxation methods to explore the inner structures of the body, mind and spirit. It provides the framework for the experiences of physical, mental and spiritual wholeness. By combining physical postures, awareness practices, relaxation techniques and breathing methods, the mind becomes quiet and the body refreshed and rejuvenated.

Within the Hatha yoga system there are widely differing techniques and styles of practice. It is important to take the time to find the method and the teacher that is right for you. Yoga can be practised by anyone of any age or any level of fitness.
