~ Now and Then ~

Now and then a grain of sand will get caught in just
the right place to form a beautiful pearl.

Now and then a dewdrop will hang in just
the right place to magnify the sun's rays on a dry
blade of grass, and a raging forest fire is ignited.

Now and then a baby is born who will grow up to be President.

Now and then, a man and a woman will meet,
and both will be feeling the same feeling.

The day we met, I did not know that you were
feeling the same thing I felt.

God guided us to the same place on that cold
windy day because he knew we needed each other.

Now and then a rose will grow right up
through a crack in the concrete,
and now and then, a man like me
will find a woman like you.

~ In My Wildest Dreams ~

At a time in my life when things were looking very dim,
As I was ready to give up hope for happiness,
You danced your way into my life like a butterfly,
So elusive, and so beautiful, like a shooting star...

Like shades of blue moonbeams lighting the night sky...

You brought magic moments to my life...

Like water to a withering flower, you gave me hope...
As I let my thoughts run free,
I find myself wondering...

What took you so long, where have you been?
I have searched for you for so long,
not knowing what you looked like...

Then out of the blue you found me,wandering aimlessly...

I never in my wildest dreams would have guessed...
just how beautiful you would be...

With eyes as soft as your soul
You look at me, knowing my most
intimate thoughts...

Take my hand and walk with me,
Sit by my side and talk to me,
And on a moonbeam we will ride into the night...

Into a vast sea of love.

~ Thinking Of You ~

In the still of the night, while the world is in slumber...
My mind goes to a special place, reserved for times just like this...

On a moonlit night, in a hollow , alone,
sitting on a log in a pine forest...
as I warm my hands by a small campfire...

I cast my memory back to days gone down...
I wonder where time has gone, and what
the future holds for me...

I think about you, wondering how you are,
and if you are happy...

Do you ever think of me, I wonder...

As I watch the lightning in the distance,
I see rainclouds hide the moon...

Yet I am deep within my self, listening to the
creatures of the night...

I still hear the strains of yesterday's laughter...
Reminding me of time spent with you, walking by the lake...

If you ever feel a strange presence about you,
don't be afraid...

It will only be me, in spirit, drifting to where you are...

Taking in all the beauty that my soul can hold...

Then softly returning to my body,
to cherish your memory...

I think of how fortunate I have been to have known you...

And how your friendship has changed my life...

Via con dios , my true and wonderful friend...

~ The War Inside ~

As the onslaught continued, the hopes of freedom began to fade.
Hopes of returning had all but disappeared.
Violent bursts of reality came and went with what seemed to be hours,
or maybe light years into the future, or was it the past?

In the distance he could see the ragged hungry children working
in the radioactive fields, mindless of what was coming.....
indifferent to the fact that good had turned to bad.
Was it real, or just hallucination?
vBittersweet memories of his childhood,
stabbing his weary consciousness, came and went,
as dawn turned to dusk, and dusk back to dawn, endlessly,
day after day, year after year.

Dreams of unkept promises of release,
ate at his very soul, causing him to hate the powers that control him.

Will the dreams ever end?
