5 Days
DAY 1:
APPALACHIAN MOUNTAINS / NORTH CAROLINA / OLD SALEM TAVERN:  Today we travel by way of the senic Appalachian Mountains on our way to North Carolina's Outer Banks.  As the miles roll by, the time rolls back.  By dinner we will be in the early 18th century.  A costumed staff will serve our meal at the Old Salem Tavern located in the heart of Winston-Salem's historic area.  As we stroll along the streets of this historic area, we see how it looked nearly 200 years ago.  (D)
DAY 2:
KITTY HAWK, NC / WRIGHT BROTHERS NATIONAL MEMORIAL / OUTDOOR DRAMA "LOST COLONY" / NAGS HEAD, NC:
Our motorcoach carries us into the coastal plains and swamp lands of North Carolina Outer Banks region.  We visit the Wright Brothers National Memorial at Kitty Hawk where their story is told through exhibits and full scale reproductions, a reconstructed camp building used as a hangar by the brother in 1903, and much more.  This evening is full of drama at " The Lost Colony", Paul Green's story of America's first English colony.  Decide for yourself what happened to this colony that vanished without a trace.

We'll eat and shop in the village of Ocracoke before riding the ferry to Cedar Island.  We travel to Morehead City for the night.
