QUILT COLORING CLASS AT THE SENIOR CENTER We are beginning a new class for Quilt Coloring. This class will have a block stamped with a pattern to be colored with fabric markers or fabric paint. Once the blocks are finished, we will put them together to complete our quilt top. We're also going to help get a quilt coloring activity going for the residents at the Summit every other Tuesday from 1:00 to 2:00pm. Anyone who can help with that activity is asked to call the center and let us know.

TRAVELER'S REUNION & PREVIEW OF 2007 TRIPS Those who have traveled with us or who are interested in future travel opportunities are invited to come for "Soup and Sandwich" lunch, reminisce about our 2006 trips and preview our 2007 schedule.
VIDEO WALKING The weather may be nasty, but we can still do our walking. We will walk in place with a video program. This is a pretty good work-out to help keep you fit during these winter days that you may not be able to get outside to walk.
BINGO BREAKFAST Sign up and pay for breakfast by January 5. Encourage a friend to come with you- the more people we have playing, the more fun we have!
PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING Members who will commit to serving on the Planning Committee on an ongoing basis are invited to come for breakfast (no charge) prior to the meeting. Be thinking of what kind of programs and activities you and other members want to see at the Center. In the February newsletter we will provide the names of Planning Committee members to contact to make suggestions for activities.
WOODWORKING: We're going to start some easy woodworking projects to see if this is something that might be of interest to you. Our first project will be a birdhouse. The pieces will be pre-cut (we're not going to start out with the actual sawing and cutting at this time), and we will assemble it. If you want to paint it or decorate it, this could be done in one of our art classes or as part of this class. YOU MUST REGISTER FOR THIS CLASS
JEWELRY MAKING CLASS In this class we will make a necklace or bracelet. Beads will be provided for your first project. YOU MUST REGISTER FOR THIS CLASS.
CHECKERS Attention Checker Players: We're going to the Summit for some serious checker playing. Call and let us know if you want to take part in this activity, so they will know about how many will be there. We will do this every other Monday.

JANUARY SENIOR SOCIAL Come enjoy some entertainment, refreshments, and visiting with friends, downstairs at the Center.
"POT-HOLES" SEMINAR The seminar presented by Hospice of the Highland Rim on October 23 was so beneficial to those who attended that we are hosting another seminar with Seirita Fields and Eddie Rogers to help us learn how to deal with those situations in life that can be detrimental to our health and happiness -"pot-holes in the road of life". This seminar will be a little longer and will include a break for a light luncheon provided at no cost to seminar participants. This program is not just for people who are really "down" and despondent. It will help anyone who is experiencing some difficulty in dealing with the adversities, large or small, that come to all of us at one time or another.

BIRTHDAY / ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION Today the Center will provide stew for lunch as we celebrate January birthdays and anniversaries. Bring your favorite dessert to share with the group. We'll have a prize for the oldest person present with a January birthday, a small gift for all birthday and anniversary people. We'll also have a drawing for a door prize.
INTER-COUNTY SHUFFLEBOARD TOURNAMENT Lewis County hosts our shuffleboard tournament this month at Hohenwald. We can take 7 on the Center van, leaving the Center at 7:30 to get there in time to visit and enjoy the refreshments. Register to play in the tournament by Wednesday 1/24, and let us know if you want to ride the van.
ROOK TOURNAMENT AT THE SUMMIT Call the Center and register if you would like to participate in a Rook Tournament with our friends at the Summit.
