Awards and Challenges
Girl Guides of Canada-Guides du Canada Chief Commissioner's Gold Award
The ultimate award a young women can earn as a Member of Girl Guides of Canada-Guides du Canada before becoming an adult is the Chief Commissioner's Gold Award. This pin is awarded with a Certificate when you complete all of the challenges in the Core plus the challenges in your branch's program. These challenges must be completed while a memer of the Senior Branches.

Senior Branches Members who earn their Chief Commissioner's Gold Award will be credited with Stage One equivalency in the adult Leadership Development Program after working as a Unit Guider for the probationary period of three to six months, provided they have completed the Chief Commissioners Gold Award in the previous two years.
Commonwealth Award
The Commonwealth Award was developed in 1985 at the Commonwealth Chief Commissioner's meeting to stregthen the bonds between the Commonwealth Countries. Information on the requirements is found on page 73 in the Senior Branch program book.
Duke of Edinurgh's Award
This Award Program is of interest to anyone who enjoys a personal challenge. There are three achievement levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Participants set their own goals in four areas: Service, Expeditions and Explorations, Skills, and Physical Fitness. The program is open to any young person between the ages of 14 and 25.
