The month of March has been a very busy month in the Housing Department. We have handed out and received several applications for assistance this month.
The Rental Program is currently serving 4 Tribal Members. There are currently 14 positions open on the Rental Assistance program. We have several applications on file and tribal members who are seeking program-approved housing.
On the Down Payment Assistance Program we have 2 applications pending outside funding approval. We currently have 4 positions available on this program.
Rehabilitation and Modernization is busy as always. We have just completed one project and have 2 that will be starting in the next week. We have a fourth project that currently we are working with Grand Gateway on for Lead Based Paint abatement.
The Housing Department has been working with other tribes and Grand Gateway on Lead Based Paint testing and abatement of several projects this past month. The cooperation and assistance offered by these programs are greatly appreciated.
The Housing Department Staff went to training in Oklahoma City March 9 th and 10 th on Mold and Moisture in the home. The training was very informative and the staff brought home a lot of information to assist them in recognition and prevention of this problem.
The Housing Department will be attending training in April to assist them in setting up a more convenient program to operate the Housing Department.

The Rehabilitation & Modernization program is very busy. We have been taking bids on 3 NAHASDA projects and are waiting for those projects to begin. We have 1 HIP project getting under way and several applications for rehabilitation on file. Bill did 5 Rehab inspections this month.
Bill & Lana will be attending training on Mold & Moisture in the home in the month of March. This is a real problem in our area so we are hoping to get some good information out of the training that we can put to good use.
Since implementing the NAHASDA program the Seneca-Cayuga Housing Department has provided service to 135 families.
The Housing Department has had a steady month. We have been busy making changes to our applications and updating client files. Lana has been busy working on a new database for the Housing Department. We are in hopes that with the new database we will cut down on paper and printing cost and duplicate applications. Being able to refer to the database and update a client's file as opposed to having a client fill out another application will save time and money for the Housing Department.

Down Payment and Closing Cost Program is still busy. We currently have 1 Tribal Member waiting on a closing date to be scheduled and others who are still seeking approval for outside funding. Bill did one inspection for Down Payment Assistance this month.
The Rehabilitation & Modernization Program has been super busy. Bill has done 4 inspections this month. We currently have 3 projects out for bid and one project waiting Lead Based Paint testing. Currently there are 2 people on the waiting list.
Lana attended a conference in Oklahoma City January 26 th & 27 th that addressed options that the Housing Department may consider using in their program at a later date.
