Star Trek Episode Countdown
Synopsis: T'Pol, Reed, and Hoshi get stranded on a Klingon ship, hurtling deep into a gas gaint.
Over All:
A well done, yet uninteresting episode.
Pros:
- This episode gos a bit more in establishing Hoshi and Reed's
character
- I like the way they show the klingons on this series. Their not exactly blood enemies, but their not friendly at all either. It's very consistant with the rest of the star trek universe, and interesting.
- The members of the away team T'Pol, Reed, and Hoshi was good choice. I think it's ridiculous that they ussauly send Archer, Tripp, and T'Pol on all the away missions, since their top three ranking officers.
Cons:
- Like most Enterprise episodes, it's just plain boring. There's not
much going on.
- In the Klingon mess hall they find a Targ tied up, and T'Pol says the Klingons eat them, but Targs aren't food, their pets. It would be like humans eating dogs. I guess it's concivable that the Klingons used to eat targs in this time peroid, but I find that hard to believe.
- Once the away team is aboard the Klingon ship, Hoshi reckonizing the writing as Klingon, and they realize they're on a Klingon ship. Reed conplains to T'Pol, wondering why she didn't reckonize this ship as Klingon, she says that there are many types of Klingon ships and she is not familiar with them all. Yet later Archer pulls up a schematic of that class of Klingon ship and said it was in the Vulcan data base. I guess it would be reasonable to assume that T'Pol doesn't have the entire Vulcan data base memorized (even though she
is a Vulcan). But Why didn't the crew try to idenify the ship before they sent an away team aboard, they could have better prepared if they knew it was a Klingon ship. It was right there in the data base all they had to do was check.
