| Kasidy Yates was brought into the series for the sole purpose of being Captain Sisko's girlfriend. Overall their relationship is just mildly interesting, it's nothing spectacular. There were a few times when it peaked, such as in "For the Cause" when Sisko discovered Kasidy was smuggling medical supplies for the Maquis and the ten episode ending arc when they got married against the warnings of the Prophets, and when Kasidy got pregant while Sisko left coporal life to be with the Prophets. I always thought it was interesting that Sisko was the only Trek Captain to have a son, and a long term girlfriend which adventurely became his wife, when Sisko seemed the must rigid captain of them all, but I suppose that contrast is why they choose him to be the family man Captain. |
