| It seemed to me they really wanted to have a long lasting relationship on Voyager, odvously to boast ratings, so they just threw two people together that had nothing in common and no chirsma. Through they tried to build up to by having the two flirt with each other constantly during the third season. But they still had no chrisma. So the next year in fourth season they decided to put the two together in the horrible episode "Day of Honor" where the two of them were trapped out in space together. It was supposed to be a touching scene when Torres confessed her love to Tom, but it was just boring and fake. This relationship destroyed Tom Paris' character making him an annyoning little idoit, and one of my most hated Trek characters of all time (up there with Vic Vontaine, Councelor Troi, and Commander Tucker). Before this relationship Tom was kind of interesting, a lady's man. And they should have left his character that way. I don't know why they were so desperate to put Tom in a relationship, first with Kes and then with B'Ellanna. This relationship also destroyed B'Ellanna character, it seems the only times they would even show her is when it had to do with her romance with Tom. |
