Star Trek Episode Countdown
Synopsis: Enterprise is ordered to transport a Vulcan ambassador from her current assignment on a planet called Mazar to a Vulcan ship. Archer gets second guesses about his mission when Enterprise comes under attack by the Mazarites and the Vulcans refuse to tell them why.
Over All:
A very well done and exciting episode, a great break from the
typical boring Enterprise episodes.
Pros:
- The best thing about this episode would have to be the chase
scene where Enterprise trys to outrun the Mazarite ships. It was one of the most exciting scenes of the entire series so far.
- One of my main complaints about Enterprise has always been how it seems to portray Vulcans as villians, however this episode looks to be the first step in changing that. How adventurely V'Lar trusts Archer and humans in general.
- Hey, for once Tripp is actaually
in engineering. "He must be the only engineer in starfleet that doesn't go to engineering."
- I like this Admiral Foster character, it shows that Admirals in this time period were alot cooler than the one in the future. When Archer tells Foster that "You could always order me back." Foster replies, "It's you're call. You're out there and I'm not." It's much better than the admirals on TNG and DS9 who threw their weight around telling the captains exactly what and what not to do.
- This episode also goes well to establishing Archer's leadership skills, instead of bumbling around like an idoit like he usaully does, In this episode he takes charge.
- The scene at the end where they bluff the Mazarites to make them believe that they killed ambassador V'Lar was great. We find out that Doctor Phlox is a very good actor.
Cons:
None
