| Synopsis: Janeway and Paris join forces to defeat the evil Doctor Chaotica in order to save an extradimensional race as well as Voyager. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Over All: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| A funny, but HORRIBLE episode. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Pros: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| - I must admit, the whole Captain Proton thing is really funny | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| especially the characters of Chaotica and Satan's Robot. = Well, this is the only "Problem in the holodeck episode" where they don't get trapped and safety protocol are actaully online. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Cons: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| - I like the idea of the photonic aliens who mistake the holodeck | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| for an actaul planet, however here they just use them as an excuse to have an episode about Captain Proton.They focus on that instead of the aliens. - The whole plot of sending Janeway in the holodeck as Arachina is utterly, totally, and completly ridiculous, in the worst sense of the word. They should have tried to explain better to the aliens what was really going on, or simply shut down the holodeck. I know, they do mentioned that they tried to shut down the holodeck but it didn't work. Well TRY HARDER! All they would have to do is shut off power to the holodeck, and if for some odd reason that didn't work, all they would have to do is shut off power to the entire ship. Just shut down the warp core or something. The holodeck program would end. With no more Choatica, the aliens would go away, so Voyager could go on their merry way. - This episode also shows what a coffee addict Janeway is. She interrupts Neelix's explanation of why he can't make her coffee, to say "I'm only going to say this once, coffee black." And she refuses to to even talk to Neelix until she has her coffee. I thought that they were beyond drug addictions in the future. In the TNG episode "Symbosoisis" The whole idea that someone could be addicted to drugs is inconciveable to Wesly. Guess what, coffee is a drug. And if we are to believe what the goverment tells us, no drug is worst than another just different. (Although they're hippercritcal by having cigerettes, caffine, and alchol legal, and marijuana, cocane illegal when more people die from cigerettes and alchol than majijuana or cocane but that's an arguement for another time) Any way I doubt the 24th century would be as backwards as this one, but even if it was, If one drug, caffine is still around others would be too. If they have Janeway addicted to coffee, they should have Paris and Kim smoking some joints in the holodeck with a bunch of rasterfarains. They should have Chakotay and Neelix smoking on their crack pipes. (which would explain why their character are they way they are. ) |
