� Many years ago, this elusive creature roamed the state freely. The Florida Panther thrived and their range extended well beyond the state. The Panther was at the top of the food chain keeping the population of Deer, Wild Boar, and other animals of prey in balance. |
|

� Unfortunatly for not only the Panther, but for all of us, the Panther's population has declined. It is now estimated that fewer than fifty animals exist in the state today. Surprisingly, it is not hunting of the creature that is responsible for the decline. Encroachment of mankind is the largest factor responsible, for it is the suburbs and highways that has reduced the range of the Panther causing the animal to come into contact with it's mortal enemy...the automobile! |
