| 12. Psalms 4:8 " I will lie down in peace and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe." In having such relationships, people try to find fulfillment in life that would supposedly result in more personal satisfaction and less sleeplessness or worry through someone of another gender, rather than through God. 13. Philippians 2:3-4 " Don't be selfish; don't live to make a good impression on others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourself. Don't think only about your own affairs, but be interested in others, too, and what they are doing." We are not to be selfish and find a special friend in our life that we can't share with another, but rather, we should serve all, and be humble, not caring what others think of us. Then God will put the perfect person in your life. 14. 1 John 4:11-12. " Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other." We are to Love one another. Love being the use of emotions to better another person, like Christ did in dying for us. How many times when a guy or girl gets a boyfriend or a girlfriend, they ignore most of the other people in their life, and only give love to one another. Also, how many times have people broken up with each other, and hatred and pain fills their heart towards one another. 16. 1 Peter 3: 3-4. Dont be concerned about the outward beauty that depends on fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. You should be known for the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God. These relationships are often based on physical, rather than spiritual, beauty. 17. These relationships are always encouraged by the flesh, and as Nike says, Just do it. But, in trying to pick our own love, are we not saying that we dont trust God; dont you think He would know whom He made for you? Remember Galatians 5:19-21 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, your lives will produce these evil results: sexual immorality, impure thoughts, eagerness for lustful pleasure, idolatry, participation in demonic activities, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, divisions, the feeling that everyone is wrong except those in your own little group, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other kinds of sin. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God. 18. Too often, one person in a relationship is dating with the intent of marriage, and has Biblical Love, and is trying to serve and benefit the other person, while the other is just dating, with no serious thought of anything. When the one dating breaks with the one who is taking the relationship seriously, it often causes depression, excruciating pain, and can often haunt one for the rest of his or her life. Even though they handled things in a correct manner, the relationship was controlled by someone only wanting what they could get out of the relationship. The devil is a deciever, He can fool your human senses with a fraud. Even if you love with a Christ like love, only God can give you the wisdom to know the truth of a person. That is why you must cleave to God before you can cleave to a husband or wife. 19. Often in dating, a person will become rebellious. Many have given all their emotions over, and no longer love their parents, church family, and even God. 23 Theses (continued) First Page 23 Theses firstpage |
