More memories from Trin on the way!
I have often said that Suzanne was my best friend, as well as my daughter. After eight months without her, its really beginning to take a grip on me. What a good friend she really was! After she moved to Avenal, I called her everyday. Yep, everydayunless she was here in town or camping where she had no reception on her cell phone. There were days that she called me, but 9 times out of 10, I called Suzanne. She never grew weary of it. If she was busy, shed tell me, and then call me back later. But, she never put me off. I can still hear her answer, after looking at her caller ID, Hi, Mommy! I talked to her about everything. I trusted her and valued her opinion. She knew me like no one else does. (Cept for the Lord Himself!) There was a day where I was feeling pretty down. I dont know why. I cant remember, but I do remember Suzanne kneeling down beside me as I sat at my computer. Talking to me. Saying things that lifted my spirit. She spoke softly and gently until she got me to smiling again. That was my daughter! My best friend!
I could go on for a very long time, telling you about things Suzanne and I have done together. But, Ill only tell you a few. Living on the West Coast and being Pittsburgh Steelers fans made it hard for us to ever see a game in person. But, that opportunity presented itself not too long ago when the Steelers played the 49ers in San Francisco. Along with Sharon and Phil Davis, we got to go to a Steelers game together! We had a blast! I really enjoyed going to a few concerts with Suzanne. One really special one to both of us was the U2 concert in April of 2001. That will always be a very fond memory for me. We also went to the Mid-State Fair to see one of Sues favorites, Sheryl Crow. And we both loved going to Fresno with Trinity, Jenny, and Chad to see Third Day in concert!
I miss you. I long to see you again. My heart cries constantly. Im happy that youre in Heaven, but Im not. And that makes me sad, because I want to give you a hug and tell you that I love you so much! I think about you. Little things about you. Like your tiny feet. How you pursed your lips when you put your make-up on. How you called me Mommy. You liked your steak rare. (yuck!) You loved my homemade macaroni & cheese. You always ordered the double cheeseburgers at McDonalds. You liked to bite on Trinitys toes. You loved her little feet. I think about how you prayed with Trin at night, and afterward you each raced to be the first to say Good Prayer! (Now Trin and I do that when we pray together.) I remember watching The Lord of the Rings with you and Trinity. All three of them. I remember junk food movie night. I think about your arms around me when you gave me a hug. What a precious daughter you were. What a beautiful daughter you were. How beautiful and precious you still are! I love you, Suzanne!
Rain Suzanne and Trinity loved to watch thunderstorms. Theyd open the window, lie on the bed, and watch the rain fall. Sometimes theyd drive out to the hills so that they could see the lightening
