| ORIGIN And LEGAL NATURE Of the ORDER (Institution) The Equestre Order of the Saint Sepolcro di Gerusalemme, of ancient origin, reordered and enriched of privileges from the Pontefici Sums, for historical, legal ties and spiritual it is under the benign protection of the Sede Saint. The Order is legal entity of canonical right, like from Apostolic Letters of Its Devout Holiness XII of the 14 september 1949 and of Its Holiness Giovanni XXIII of 8 Decembers 1962, let alone legal entity Vatican, like from the Rescritto of Its Holiness Giovanni Paul II of 1 February 1996. |
| One of the more important engagements of the Knights and Checkerses of the Order of the Sepolcro Saint consists in supporting and to promote the religious, cultural and social activities - let alone the institutions - of the Catholic Church in Saint Earth, in particular those of the Latin Patriarchy of Gerusalemme, which the Order is legacy from the tradition and the history. This engagement comprises: the support to the Patriarch and its three auxiliary bishops, to the 81 priests scattered in the several parishes and to the 120 nuns to the service of the Latin Patriarchy; the financing of the seminary for the formation of the future clergymen to Beit Jala, of the 43 patriarcali schools, and, more in a generalized manner of the cultural and social activities and the building plans. |
