Restored King James Version -- How these translations were done

Individual books from a public domain Authorised Version (King James) were processed by a series of programs to

For each book, a Strong's Concordance was consulted for instances in that book where "God" was not "Elohim" in the original Hebrew. Manual changes to "Adonai", "El", etc were made in accordance with the information from Strong's Concordance. The concordance was checked for verses in that book where "Lord" should not be replaced with "YHWH" and manual changes were made.

In a few other instances, while carrying out the above manual editing, the outdated phrasing of the Authorised Version was manually updated to modern English.

Because of time constraints, only a minimal change from the Authorised Version has been attempted. Although the wording is often clumsy by modern standards, it is considered by many as reasonably literal and accurate.
