| June 9th 2001, This was a double race weekend, as well as the first of two autograph sessions. We were so happy with the turn out and the fans.... Unfortunately we did not fair as well in this weekend's events. We suffered a damaging accident during the 100 lap race on Saturday (which we did not finish). We spent most of Saturday night into the early hours of Sunday trying to get the car fixed for Sunday's race. We ended up showing up late to the track on Sunday and were made to start from the back of the field. Ron struggled with an ailing, badly damaged car on Sunday and we..... |
| luckily squeezed out a 12th place finish. We can't say enough however about the fans. Being new to this division, the outpouring of support and kindness from everyone was overwhelming. You know who you are and we can't thank you enough. In anyone's racing career, you have good nights and bad.... this weekend we had a couple of BAD nights with the car.... and a GREAT night with the fans. Thank you to Bonnie Johnson for the pictures, unfortunately our normal photographer had a problem with her camera and we have been unable to get pictures for the last couple of weeks. Hopefully that will be taken care of... and we will resume to putting pictures on soon. |
| As you can see it was a total crew effort..... we all got to meet with people and help Ron give out goodies. At this one autograph session, we gave out over 100 grab bags and pictures!!! We even got requests for t-shirts. Don't worry guys.......they are coming!!! |
