Week #2 Beech Ridge Motor Speedway April 29th 2001 |

If you look closely, you can see flames out of the back of the car, due to a fuel spill and the car backfiring, we missed our qualifying heat this week.... the flames grew much larger than this. Fortunately no one was hurt and the car sustained minimal damage.
The right rear corner of the car, was the only damage caused by the fire. Fortunately, we made the feature.
Ron started at the rear of the field <------------ for the feature, but as you can see by the picture below, it didn't take him long to start moving through the traffic
On lap 32 of the 40 lap race, the 80 car made contact with the turn 3 wall and caused a minor pile up between turns 3 & 4. We were part of that wreck, and were forced to bring Ron in to pull the body away from the right front tire. We made it back out onto the field, losing only positions, not laps. With only 8 laps left to go and several damaged cars at the rear of the field, it made it difficult for Ron to move. On the final lap however, Ron made the move to bring him to the 16th position again, making him the first rookie over the finishing line, and earning us a free tire for next week.
