RED SHOE DIARIES

Hey, get off my leg! Moaned Auriel as Tania fell on top of her while trying to enter the room carrying a pile of books.

Real, what the are you doing down there? She replied whilst picking herself up and putting the books on her desk.

I was looking for my Red Shoe Diary under your bed because I have to hide it from Jason again. Anyway, look where you are going next time please! Auriel resumed her search for her shoe which she kept money, other valuables, items with sentimental value and notes to herself hidden within. She had a tendency to hide it in other peoples rooms because people would ransack her room looking for it, namely Jason, the guy who had the room between Auriel and Tania.

Girlfriend, you know he isnt going to give it up, youre just going to have to show him whats in there sometime. He will find it you know. I think Jase is hiring a private detective to find it or something. How did you get in here anyway? Tania said as she sank into a blow up chair in the corner of her room with one of the books she was earlier carrying, went Humph before tossing it to one side.

I have my ways. Have you moved my shoe Tania?

I havent touched youre stinking shoe, its bad enough I let you put it under there. Have you left my door unlocked at anytime perhaps?

I left it unlocked when I had my Economics tutorial earlier cause I didnt know if you were coming back. Auriel said as she finally gave up and sat on the bed.

Ill be back in a minute, I just have to go to the bathroom, read something and expand your brain frequency or something. Tania stood up, moved towards the door and left Auriel reading A Tale of Two Cities. Instead of going to the bathroom she went next door and knocked on the door.

Its open Came the male voice from the other side.

I know, thats the problem, Laughed Tania as she entered Jasons room and found him sitting at his computer busy typing up what looked like an essay, Can I talk to you for a minute?

Hey Tans, hows it going, take a seat. Jason swivelled around in his chair so that he was facing Tania sitting on the bed.

You havent by any chance seen a red shoe around today have you?

Maybe I have, maybe I havent. It will cost you. He had that look in his eye and Tania could tell he didnt know anything but would play along anyway.

Okay, well close youre eyes then. She had seen a felt pen sitting on the desk beside him and had an idea. Tania moved up and sat on his knee, uncapped two felts and drew big circles around his eyes before he opened them. She ditched the pens and started to leave the room. Jase, I know you dont know anything, I just wonder who does. Oh yeah, Aury wants to see you in my room. The two of them walked back to Tanias room and as soon as Auriel saw the state Jason was in she started laughing out loud. He looked in a mirror and chased Tania around the block for five minutes.

Are you sure you havent left it somewhere else? Jason asked as he fell on to Auriels bed that evening after they had searched almost every room in their block.

Dont even go there JC or we will be made to search 300 more rooms just to find it ripped apart by the resident dog that lives under Block Two. Tania said after returning with three cans of coke.

I havent ever left it anywhere other than this block I dont think. I knew I should have put a security system inside it for protection. Finally Auriel had kind of relaxed and was stretched out on her bed looking at the mural she had taped to her roof.

Whats going on in here then, Jase are you making a move on my girlfriend? Joked Shannon, Auriels boyfriend as he stood in the doorway.

Shes lost her Red Shoe Diary and is afraid at who might have it, youve read it lately and know whats in it. Tania announced as Shannon took a seat on the floor beside her.

Youre worrying about that! Dont you remember how you brought it over last Saturday because you thought Jase was getting close to discovering where it was at the time. Ive hidden it there like you asked me. The room was silent as they computed what Shannon had told them. Jason and Tania grabbed a pillow each and took to Auriel before Shannon stepped in to halt proceedings.

You have to let me into it now. Its only fair dont you agree Tania! Jason had seen his one and only chance to be let into the secret surrounding that shoe.

Um, its not really up to me. Stop flicking my leg Slackbum! Shannon was also Tanias twin brother but had been put into a different Block of the University Dormitories. They had a good relationship though.

Hey, dont call me that, Ill ring mum and tell her youre being a meany pants. Guess what, Im the only one who really knows where the Shoe is and I have access. Shannon had stood up and looked to be heading for his room so Tania tackled him to the ground while Auriel got his keys and ran off and down the stairs.

Auriel was in the lead with Jason closing in behind. Shannon and Tania were fighting it out in the back. Shannon landed on his butt and Tania ran on to get Jason. Auriel entered Shannons Block but Jason made it to the door before it closed with Tania getting there as Jason pulled the door shut, laughing at Tania from the top of the steps before continuing to chase Auriel.

So what does she have in that shoe anyway? Asked Shannon as he and Tania walked up the stairs after someone had let them in.

Just stuff weve talked about in the middle of the night, I think. Tania suddenly stopped with a look of horror on her face. Holy Shit! Ive just thought of what might have been so damned important to keep away from Jason. Shannon wanted to keep moving so he pulled Tania the rest of the way into his room where the other two were standing.

Well now, the things you find out when you stick your nose in a shoe. Jason said in one of those I know what youve been up to voices. You think Im a bit of all right looking material do you Miss Tania. You think I have a fine looking specified hunk ass do you Miss Tania.

Im so sorry Tans. I totally thought it was safe. Auriel looked slightly upset and Shannon went and sat beside her on the bed. Jason and Tania looked at each other and just started cracking up laughing.

Okay, okay, enough of this. Babe, I think its about time we came clean. Jason said, whilst trying not to laugh about some of the things he had read. Shannon and Auriel looked up and at Jason and Tania, who had suddenly moved closer.

Well, it all started one night in an Internet chat line. Well, we ended up talking to each other, without knowing who the other was. When we eventually figured it out we had discovered we liked each other in real life and things just continued from there. Tania said as Jason put his arm around her.

And we have been going out for a month. We just didnt know how to tell you. Continued Jason. Auriel and Shannon looked at each other and then started cracking up as well.

The truth, my dear sister is I guess the name of the game. It is then that we have to admit that we already know. Shannon managed through the laughter. Youre my twin, I knew something was up and it kind of came clear when I was in the Library one day, looking up a book on changing forms of labour in a Post Industrial society. I came around the corner of a shelf and saw a little hidden PDAing amongst a backdrop of Marxian views on Capitalism.

He reported back to me and now we are here all laughing at each other. Auriel said as she starting picking up pieces of paper and sticking them back in her bright red shoe. Shannons next door neighbour was walking past when they stopped at the doorway.

Man, what a state we are in today Shannon. Looks like youre having an orgy in here or something. Caroline picked up a piece of paper and then laughing at what she thought was an absurdity. Shannon started laughing while she was still talking.

Do you know, that was the book I was looking for in the library that day. The state were in. Shannon started laughing and everyone started laughing at each other and the total absurdity of anything that might have been said about anything ever written in the Red Shoe Diary.
