interview with rebecca of grindead webzine.

Hey Todd, Cheers for the interview man.. and a welcome back for you to Inhuman Dissiliency as I understand!!

hey thanks, i'm glad to be back, and thanks for the interview.

To start us off, Can you give us a brief bio of Inhuman Dissiliency and how you would describe your sound?

inhuman started off as me and shawn working on a side project for our old band that was coming to an end. brian was on vacation and we were having problems with our drummer never showing up. we just wanted to play some sick death metal. seeing that there are no drummers in the area that want to play death metal, we said fuck it and bought a drum machine. originally i was going to do vocals, and we were just going to find a bass player. well, perpetual dismemberment broke up. brian didnt have a band, so we had brian do vocals for us... so pretty much it was our old band, minus the drummer, plus more brutal music. we've actually been together for a good 2 years or so, but just recently got out in the scene. i quit in april due to some problems i was having that i had to take care of. now i'm back, and prepared to kick some ass... wow, sorry... that wasn't too brief... haha.

I just recently downloaded the mp3s off your site.. They are sounding fuckin sick! Im sure the masses are all eagerly anticipating the full length just like I am, Hows the recording going? Any idea on a release date?

i'm not sure about a release date, because we're going to go back into the studio and fix up some loose ends that need to be taken care of.

The Old school demo tape thing seems a thing of the past now that alot of bands are preferring to offer mp3s for download. what do you think of this? Have you got a lot more interest due to the availability of your music on the Internet??

ya, i'd say we got a shitload more interest now that we're online... most of central pa doesn't take too kindly to death metal... but i do love when i see kids passing around demo tapes... sticking to the roots.

Tell us a bit about your old band "Silenced".. What style of music did you guys play and did you release any recordings? Why did you split up?

silenced was actually a punk band going more into the obituary styled metal. i wasn't an original member of silenced though. i was close friends with the old bass player who lived down the street. i used to go watch them practice every day the played. eventually he lost interest in playing music, and shawn and the old drummer, shane, asked if i wanted to fill in, seeing that i already knew the music anyways... shortly after, shane parted ways to continue with his education. no recordings were done, except for some ghetto jam box recordings.

Whats the scene like in Pennsylvania? Do you guys receive good support down there? Are there any other Pennsylvanian metal bands worth mentioning?

dude, like i said earlier... the majority of central pa hates death metal. we do have a group of metalheads in the area, but for the most part we're shit to them. outside of central pennsylvania, like pittsburgh and philadelphia, we do have some fans. there are a few metal bands in the area, but it's more melodic metal and thrash. we do have a buddy working on a solo project called Excrement, which is a goregrind band, and coprophagy, which is just straight up grind.

Back to the internet thing just for a second, your website is really well done, especially for such a young band, I'm used to seeing mp3.com sites with shitty cover designs hehe but your site has a really cool concept.. Who takes the credit for this??

ya, we all put our input into it, but shawn is hard at work making that site sick as fuck for all you metalheads out there.

Onto the sound of Inhuman Dissiliency, you guys have a really fuckin heavy sound which sort of reminds me of the mighty Devourment in bits which I know is a major influence for most brutal death metal bands. What would be your major influences and are you into any other styles of music aside from death metal?

my influences... i'd have to say bands like Vomit Remnants, Artery Eruption, and Brodequin are some of my influences... and yes... Devourment \m/ other than death metal, i listen to a shitload of different stuff.. i'm really open to different styles. pretty much all sorts of metal, hardcore, i love breakdowns... bands like sublime, sometimes i even get my groove on to some snoop dogg...

Drum Machines, people seem to love or hate them. Was it a preference for you guys to use one or last resort?

we wanted to play so bad we decided to start with the drum machine, and if anyone came our way, we'd give them a shot. but ya, we've been pretty happy with the drum machine.

The Vocals on these mp3s are fucking brutal!, Lots of slow croaks and gurgling. and some almost hissing parts too which I found interesting.. Nice backups too! I also noticed the lyrics page up on the site. A lot of bands are choosing not to use lyrics lately, Are their lyrics on these recordings? or is it for concept only? Please explain in detail.. Why/Whynot..

i for one take pride in our lyrics. as a team we work hard as fuck to put out sick lyrics. the lyrics are on the recordings. we want to put all we can into the songs in order to make them as sick as possible.

Ok, now for some more personal questions. How old are you sickos? What are your interests other than writing brutal music?

shawn is 26, brian is 20, and i'll be turning 19 here in a few weeks. long walks on the beach, flowers, fuzzy animals, masturbation... nah, well, masturbation is... but i'm really interested in tattooing and art in general, i try to go to a lot of local shows and support the bands.

How long have you been playing bass Todd? What bassists are you influenced by?

i've probably been playing for about 5 years, although it doesnt show... i was actually influenced to start playing bass by my hippy cousin, and now i play in a death metal band... go figure.

When and How did you get into death metal? What were some of the first bands that impressed you?

shawn actually got me into death metal. he's been listening to it his entire life, and all i knew about at the time was mainstream metal. we'd be taking road trips, and he'd pop in some old school obituary, cannibal corpse, and some napalm death. i fell in love with it, and just continued listening to it.

Has Inhuman Dissiliency got any gigs comin up? What would be your dream gig to play??

sadly no. we don't have anything lined up at this time. my dream gig... shit... anything. haha. i just want to play!

Ok I think that pretty much rapts it up Todd, Thanks again for doing the interview!!! Im sure we will be hearing a lot of sick sounds from Inhuman Dissiliency in the future! Keep it up guys! Is there anything else you'd like to tell the readers? Also can you please tell us know about any merch or release you currently have and how people can get their hands on them?
