interview with dave devour of goregurgler webzine.

Here's an intie with INHUMAN DISSILIENCY from Pennsylvania. I chose this band for our first interview on GoreGurgler Webzine 'cause I think they're one of the best newer Brutal Death bands to come out of the U.S.A and as such they deserve support. Make sure to check 'em out if you're looking for brutal fucking U.S. death metal!!

Hello Brian. Before starting this first interview for GoreGurgler webzine, I would like to thank you for sharing your time with us, since I know you're very busy with work. Could you give us your band's bio?

No problem bro, anytime. And thanks for the interview, this will be the first interview for me. Our band started with 3 members; Shawn-guitar, backup vox / Todd; bass, backup vox / and me (brian) main vox. We started out as a different band called Perpetual Dismemberment which did have a drummer but that didn't work out so we formed Inhuman Dissiliency with the use of a drum machine. We started using the drum machine just to get music out in hopes that some day we could find a drummer to match our style. A little after a year or so Todd left the band to venture into other music. That left me and Shawn and now our main focus is to find a drummer but we could possibly settle for a bassist. We tried a second guitarist for a short period of time but we decided against that in the long run. Now we're still writing music and just trying to have some fun with the band.

2 How old are the band members, and how long have you been listening to Death Metal for?

I am 20 and Shawn is 26ish. I've been listening to Death Metal for about 4 years. Ever since I moved to Pennsyvania and met Shawn who grew up on Death Metal.

3 Shawn sent me your 3-song demo cd-r via internet, and I really liked it alot, because it reminds me of Devourment and such. Which bands are your main influences?

Well Devourment is definetely our biggest influence. We love the breakdowns!!! Other than that some other influences are Disgorge, Artery Eruption, Suffocation, Saprogenics, Circle of Dead Children, etc.

4.The demo has a drum machine but it sounds really brutal and your vocals are excellent! Where did you draw influences from, or who are your favorite vocalists?

Thanks for the compliment on the vocals/drums. As far as influences go for the drums, I'm not really sure in particular. We just went for a style we liked, fast blast and slow, crunchy breakdowns. We basically wanted the drums to sound as real as possible and thanks to Shawn and Todd, I think the drums sound great personnally. Lets see, my favorite vocalist are Matty Way/Disgorge, definetetly Ruben from Devourment, and Joe Horvath/Circle of Dead Children among a few others.

5.Even though you're such a young band, i've seen you've got quite alot of merchandise available at your website. Do lots of people in the USA buy stuff from you? 'Cause I see you have everything from shirts, buttons and even stickers, when on the other hand there's bands that don't have as much merchandise yet they've been around longer, like Mutilated for example.

Both me and Shawn are both into art and music. We play in the band because we love music and we make the merchandise to express our art. The merchandise doesn't make the band but it does help spread the music out so more people can hear it. We have fun making merchandise thats why we make so much. We have a good deal of people in the U.S. who have bought some of our merchandise but it's pretty much equal with people across seas who have bought it too.

6.have you found a human drummer yet?

No. Heh, we would like to get one but at the time being we're extremely busy with our EP, so getting one now would just prolong the EP's debut. After it's out it would be great to get a drummer I think.

7.You told me you were preparing new songs for an upcoming EP. Can you tell us something about this, like how many songs will be included?

The EP will have 8 songs on it. Each song has it's own flair to it for me atleast. Basically I don't think it will be monotone in the slightest. The EP will include the 3 songs from our website or demo rerecorded and slightly different. It will still be brutal as ever and I hope anyone who hears it will enjoy it.

8 Do you get laid more now that you're in a band? Do you know many chicks into Brutal metal?

Hehe, nice question bro. Hmmm, well I don't think I have been living the big-time rock and roll lifestyle but I think it has scored me a few points with the ladies. Chicks into brutal metal around here, I wish. No I definetely don't know many, a lot of people around here aren't very into the metal scene unfortunately.

9.Before entering your website you have a warning message about the pics inside, I see you have gore images that some people may find offensive. It's not very usual to see this type of warning on death metal bands websites, anything to say about this??

Well, we're just covering our asses. The last thing we want is some overprotective mom bitching at us or worse about our "offensive content".

10.Back to the band. I guess you've been asked this a million times, but I have to ask as well, your band's logo is very similar to another Texan band's logo, INSIDIOUS DECREPANCY. Where did you get the idea for the logo? Did their logo influence you at all?

Yeah, I guess it's about a million and one times now. But we really didn't try to make our logo look so much like Insidious Decrepancy. I assure you, it's not a ripoff even if it may seem to be. If the logo similarities become a problem in the future we may change our logo but for now, thats that I guess. Shawn designed our logo and it went through many changes until we were finally satisfied with what we have now. We used various metal logos as inspirations and this does include Insidious Decrepancies logo. All the artwork for our logo is original, we just liked the layout of Insidious Decrepancies logo.

11.Well Brian, that's it. thanks alot for the interview, I know you're a busy guy. These last lines are for you to say whatever you want or promote your band a little more.Take care!

Yeah, thanks Dave, the interview was fun. For anyone who enjoys brutal fucking DEATH METAL with sick vocals, nasty guitar work, and pounding breakdowns, check out Inhuman Dissiliency. We'll have more music to release to the public very soon hopefully and keep it brutal all you sick fuckers. later y'all...........Brian/Inhuman Dissiliency

p.s. and special thanks to you Dave and good luck with your zine. Thanks also to all the brutal supporters of the underground metal scene.
