Date Done: July 14, 2004
Story: Ive been planning to do my own nipple piercing for a few weeks. I researched about it online (how I found this site) and decided that I could do it myself. I again looked online for piercing needles, as cheep as I could get them, and some jewelry. I found some needles on gothauctions.com and some jewelry on gothicauctions.com. After the captive bead ring came in the mail I started to get ancy about it. I didnt want to wait for the needle. So I decided to find something else I could use. I looked all around the kitchen, where sharp things usually are, and I found an unopened bag of skewers (long, sharp metal things to poke a turkey with) I was like Great! Those will be perfect! cause they are about the same width of a 14 gauge needle, theyre just not hallow.

Anyhoo, I got everything else ready I needed: Prep solution (I got from hospital), skewer, cotton balls, paper towels, rubber gloves, tongs from kitchen (the kind with loops in them), captive bead ring, and the phone in case I hit an artery or vein and couldnt stop the bleeding. Then sat down, put prep solution on my nipple, clamped it with the tongs, got the skewer ready and gave a small push to see what it was going to be like. Wow, I can take a lot of pain, but without a hallow needle it would have been hurting so bad. So I cleaned everything off and I looked in the mirror. I thought maybe it would be neat to have a side lip ring. So, I prepared everything again and made marks where I wanted it. I clamped it and held it tight for a minute to get it a little numb and took the skewer and started to shove it through the outside of my lip. It went through pretty easily and with barely any pain. And I sat with it in my lip for about 5-10 minutes to let it stretch a bit. Then I took the CBR and put it to the end of the skewer and pulled it slowly while I pushed the CBR into my lip, trying to follow it through. I made it till near the inside of my lip and I couldnt find the exit hole. So after a minute of trying to find it I knew I had to make a new one before I made my lip swell anymore than it was. So I took a breath and pushed hard. It popped through and I put the ball on. And Ive been cleaning it regularly and its doing great!
