Date Done: 6 months or so ago [as of September 2003] Story: Well, about 6 months ago I was at the mall and I saw some 12g metal spikes. I thought they looked way tight, but at the time I only had one earring in, 20g I think. So I bought both, and got ready for a painful week. First I got some piercing solution, and some dial anti-bacterial soap. Then I went back to my house and my stupid ass thought I could ba all hard and do it with the spikes. nope I was way wrong, so I took a safety pin and pierced my right ear. Well after I pierced the right I left the safety pin in for like 30 min while I gauged out the left to a 12g. To do this I got some Vaseline and pushed like hell, the 20g finally was a 12g, but it hurt like a bitch. It looked way sick. So after 30 min or so, I went on to do the right, now I dont recommend this, but I went from that little safety pin needle head to a 12g within a 30 min time period. This hurt way more than the left, but again it looked cool, so I didnt care. After about 2 days I moved up to 10g hoops, they looked way better. But I wasnt all the way happy yet. So about two days after, only four days after the piercing I went to an 8. This I like for about a week, till my friend gave me his 6g plugs. So in about two weeks I went from piercing to 6g plugs. This didnt last long, I mean they healed, but it wasnt really my style. Soo I got some 8g horse shoes, and let me tell you, I couldnt be happier. The only thing is, they are kind of heavy-but I have since gotten used to it. P..S. I used tapered spikes for all my upgrades..the only way too gohave seen to many fucked up ears that didnt have the tapperd stretchers, and it isnt a good sight. ![]() Needle: I used a safety pin Gauge: Probably 20g for the needle, but 12 for the spikes Purchased: At the mall Cost: $15 for the spikes Jewelry: Barbells Gauge: Now they are 8g Purchased: At the mall Cost: Were 60$ for the pair, but I got them for 20 for the pair (got a hook up) Aftercare: Hot Topic for the solution, dial anti-bacterial soap Purchased: Hot Topic and [another]store Cost: Probably $4 TOTAL COST: Probably like over $120 for all the taperd spikes and different earrings I have now ![]()
