Story: I had just gotten back from my homecoming dance and was really tired, but I was also still too excited to go to bed. I had nothing to do so I decided to do something kind of rebelious...to pierce myself.
I snuck down to my mom's sewing kit and found some needles, 3 different guages. I'd think probably 16, 18, and 20G. I started with the 20 because that's what I used for my navel piercing. That hurt a lot to get through, so I went at it again with the 18, which was really really sharp. I didn't think it was that sharp, but it went right through my ear with no pain at all. It kind of freaked me out a bit. I was just pushing it through not expecting it to go through when all of a suden U heard a pop and the needle slid right through.
I just let that sit in there for about an hour before I tried to get a stud in it, then I put the stud in, no problems at all. My second piercing on that ear (my left one) was right were the cartilage starts, this one was a little harder to get through, and hurt a little more too. My friends think I got it done professionally, they asked me why I got it done in the middle of my ear and I just said that I wanted to be original. Because everyone has their lobes done and everyone also has the cartilage on the top of their ear pierced...why not have it just in the middle?
