![]() Title: Lowbret (a low labret, get it?) Author: Diana Complications: A little bit of gum irritation from the earring backing End Result: Perfectly centered beautiful lowbret Happy with the Result: Its perfect, love it! Date Done: September 19, 2003 Story: I've wanted a lip/labret/lowbret piercing for such a long time, and it was one of the only piercings that no one in my school had. So when I heard that a girl in a grade lower than me was getting it done on the weekend, I said screw it! I'M GONNA BE FIRST! So at around 2:00 on Friday afternoon I got all the stuff together, sterilized it with alcohol and pulled on the rubber gloves. Grabbed my mother's 14g curved tapestry needle (she doesn't sew tapestries anyways) and stuck it through the center of my lip *NO FREEZING BTW VERY PROUD OF THAT!* (when I say lip I mean in between my lip and my chin, thats pretty much exactly where it is). It took one hard push to get it through the skin layers, and bit of a breather, and another hard push to get through the gum layer. Went through, removed the needle (that part hurt just a little bit) and stuck a regular 18g earring with a rubber back on. A couple weeks later I stretched it with a plug up to 16g and got a proper labret, and its been with me ever since. My dad told me I looked like a whore, my mother loves it and says it looks exotic, and my boyfriend thinks that its annoying when we kiss. ![]() Needle: Tapestry needle Gauge: 14G Purchased: In a $10 needle kit (the price was on the back) Cost: $10 Jewelry: Was an earring, now labret Gauge: 18g, now 16g Purchased: Labret purchased @ Spencers Cost: $24.99 Aftercare: Alcohol on the outside, salt rinse on the inside after eating/drinking etc Purchased: Homemade salt rinse, just plain rubbing alcohol around $3.00 a bottle Cost: See above TOTAL COST: Labret cost me $24.99, everything else was in my house anyways ![]()
