Happy with the Result: I must say I feel like I've achieved something and so yeah I feel great Date Done: January 9, 2004 Story: Story: About a week ago I was lookin around on the internet and decided with the bit of cash that I had left from Christmas I would order some needles and jewelery to pierce my navel. I've been looking around for a while on the internet for advice on how to do it properly and so I thought there was no time like the present. About 3 years ago, I tried to pierce my navel with a sewing needle, but soon gave up, wasn't as easy as I thought. I then had it pierced with an ear gun...not a good idea at all, but we all learn. In the end I ordered some foerster clamps, two 14 gauge introcan needles (the ones with the plastic canular that u pass the jewelery through after you take the needle out, a 14gauge BCR and I even did the sensible thing of getting some sterets, the pre-injection swabs. My package arrived in the post this morning and I didn't wait to get home from college to get it done. I decided I would start off by numbing my navel with ice, but got impatient and got clamped up before I was as numb as I would have liked. Stupidly I locked the door (this is stupid incase u pass out, no one can get 2 u) so I wouldn't be disturbed and put on my favourite song. As I started to push the needle in there was a slight pain I must admit, but I just took a deep breath and carried on pushing, after going for about 5mins or so I could feel my head starting to spin and was feeling really queasy. This is not like me at all, I have had so many piercings done before, 4 in each lobe, helix, tragus and my nose. I'm not scared of needles at all, but I thought I was goin to pass out so I stopped pushing and laid down for a while. I could feel the needle almost coming through the last bit of skin, but all I wanted 2 do was keep as still as possible, I managed to get up off the bed and walk over to the door and unluck it. I then stupidly decided to go for one last push, which paid off in the end cause it went just through. I couldn't take it anymore and pulled it all out and lay down, must have been for a good 5mins till everything wasn't in black and white anymore, it was so weird! I stood up very disapointed in myself, this was something that I wanted to do for myself, I got the ring and tried to push it through the hole which was bleeding now. To my suprise it slid straight through! All I had to do then was put the ball in. I had done it, all over and now it doesn't hurt one bit! So here I am newly pierced with the hugest grin =D I must admit I did scare myself a bit almost passing out, but I think that the self satisfaction afterwards really outweighs the queasyness. I'm really chuffed with my new piercing and as soon as this one is on its way healing I'm going to do my inverse navel. I'll let u know how it goes. ![]() Needle: introcan needle Gauge: 14 , thats 1.6mm Purchased: www.pierceitshop.co.uk Cost: 2 each Jewelry: Titanium BCR Gauge: 14, again 1.6 mm Purchased: Same as above, pierceit. co.uk Cost: 1.50 each Aftercare: Rock salt and pre-boiled water solution soaks, 5% tea tree oil, twice a day Purchased: Any old supermarket and the oil was from my piercer at Blue Banana Cost: No idea bout the salt, but the oil was 3 for 10ml TOTAL COST: 6.50 but my clamps were 13 so all in all....19.50 ![]()
