Date Done: May 15, 2003 Story: Well, I'll start of by saying that, I have always really really really wanted my belly button pierced. My mom has refused to let me get it done, she says that there are too many things that could go wrong, and that I was too young to make that decision to have a hole punched through my stomach. I tried explaining that it's not really through your stomach and that it's just a little bit of skin, she still said no, no, and no once more. So, one sunny afternoon in May, I took matters into my own hands, I was gonna have that piercing no matter what. Well, the first time, I couldn't get the needle all the way through, second time, I got the needle in and it turned a funny purple color after a while, third time, definitely not a charm, my mom found out. Well, I was still pretty damn determined. My best friend wanted one too, so we decided to go with safety pins, (I know you're not supposed to, but what can you say, I'm blonde). I put the safety pin up to my belly button and pushed it as hard as I could, it wouldn't go through, so I took it out and heated it with a match. I decided it was too hot so I let it cool a bit and stuck it in, it took about 20 minutes to get it all the way through, and only about 5 to get my friends through. It hurt for a while and I was a little out of breath afterward. But it's fine now, and I've started putting an antibiotic ointment on it for a while, I have the safety pin in and I think I'm gonna leave it in for a while until it's pretty much healed. It was so worth it! ![]() Needle: Safetypin Gauge: Don't know Purchased: Found it Cost: Nothing Jewelry: Safety pin, for now Gauge: Don't know Purchased: Found it Cost: Nothing Aftercare: Ear piercing cleaner, tripple antibiotic ointment, keeping a bandaid over it for a while Purchased: Drug store Cost: Not sure TOTAL COST: About 5 bucks or so ![]()
