Complications: The first time I did it I didn't leave it in. Then the second time it thinned out because I didn't pierce it deep enough. The third time I took out the safety pin and it was too swelled up to put the ring in like I had planed then the safety pin wouldn't go back in.
End Result: It's good...but swollen

Story: First of all I know I'm stupid for doing this kinda stuff like piercing myself...more than once, but I'm obsessed with the feeling and the look.
Anyways this is how I did it:
First I cleaned my mouth out really good with listerine[how ever you spell it]. I cleaned all my equipment and used a flame on the tweezers[very necessary if you're going to pierce yourself], the safety pin, and the 14 gauge ring. Then I took the safety pin, which is held with the tweezers, and pushed it right through the little piece of skin under my tongue. Remember if you're going to do it pierce it deep enough where it won't thin out. All I had to do then was clean it once more with listerine and a little bit of salt water.
It doesn't bleed at all unless you mess with it too much so you don't have to worry about that. And after I was done I left the safety pin in it for about 4-5 days depending on how long it takes it to heal. Then I can take it out and put the ring in. Making sure I clean it every time I can.
This is a great piercing for those who's parents don't like the idea of anything pierced except ears. They'll never see it and you can't feel it. Plus, it's a hard piercing to mess up and it'll heal quicker than a piercing outside the mouth. If you pierce it with something not very large like a 20 gauge don't worry once it heals enough to put the barbell or ring you have chosen it stretches to what ever gauge you want it to.
