Title: I'm drunk, go ahead
Author: Carrie
Complications: Thumbtack piercing, no problems whatsoever, stretching well, some bleeding and pretty bad swelling
End Result: Looks pretty fucking rad
Happy with the Result: There's always a risk involved with doing shit yourself but I like mine and I'd be happy to do it over, as is my plan in a little while
Date Done: I had my thumbtack piercing done roughly about 2 years ago, I
Story: Ok, so what...16 year olds drink. So to speak I was at my friends house, drunk out of my skull. Sitting around talking, doing the stuff you do when your drunk, (yes I'm sure you all know).

My parents are pretty lenient, I mean my dad's a big tattoo piercing freak. Sadly he reminds me of Rob Zombie, but anyway, I knew that they wouldn't care and since my brother was just getting into the business, I didn't trust him to actually do it professionally. I know he apprenticed for 3 years, but can you honestly say that you trust any of your siblings with sharp objects?! I brought up the topic to my friend.

Next thing I know, my friend Derek, who has done several piercings of his own, and our friends, is standing over me with a sterilized thumbtack (kinda). On the count of three, shoves the thing into my ear, removes it and jams a stud into it and repeats again with the other ear. Being drunk, you feel nothing. It was all good. Wake up and my ear was a little tender but hey, I had 19 piercings before (weird that I didn't have the bottoms of my ears done I know) it's done, no problems.

After 6 weeks of that, it's old news, my brothers and dad have their lobes stretched, so I think, what the hell, I'm doing mine. My first try failed miserably, as it hurt like a mofo and bled. Ok, no big deal, leave the earring, couple weeks later I'm determined to do it. So...one…two...three...BANG! I shoved the small version of the finishing nails in my ears, no big deal. Swelling, a little blood nothing unusual.

I left them in for 4 weeks, just to be safe. I had tapers, roughly a 10ga, worked up the guts and jammed those in my ears, yea, that hurt, for sure, but they were in and all was good. Then, I got infection...finally after a seemingly effortless battle, I conquered the infection and left the tapers in for a month. Next month, next size, I kept on doing that until now, which I am completely satisfied with my 00ga's. =)
