This is pretty basic too, lets say that whoever pierced your ear or whatever pierced it too low. If you go to gauge this to something big, or even small, you'll notice the bottom of your lobe sagging and becoming 'thin,' which is what this means. The bottom of your lobe gets thinner and thinner till it rips. To reduce this, make sure you have it pierced relatively center of the your lobe at where you want it pierced (not too high or too low). If your ear rips, you can let it dangle and pierce that (it has been done) or you can have it sewn back together and let it heal (hopefully).
