.: Bleeding :.

You're probably thinking...okay, so yea...people bleed sometimes, especially if you poke them hard enough. Well, this can lead to health problems, I mean more than the obivous of you've got a wound and it needs treatment (rather it be self inflicted or not).

You may bleed if you self pierce, or even if you get professional pierced. If you are self piercing and you start to bleed and you aren't finished piercing and feel as if you can continue on without too many complications do so. Clean the area up first (after you're done self-piercing should that be the case) and don't be stupid, don't use hydrogen peroxide to clean the area. Instead use anti-bacterial soap, which is pretty much what everyone has in their bathroom for once you've done your business and you SHOULD clean your hands afterwards. Use a Q-tip, dampen one end, add a little soap and gently clean the area. You can use that method to clean the piercing daily as well.

Also, if you have other people around you, you don't know what you may have, blood can carry some pretty bad stuff. Don't go and get your blood all over someone, clean up an area if you do happen to bleed on something. Don't be lazy and get your buddy to do it, do it yourself, it's your blood. It's a safety issue...

And by all means, if you are bleeding uncontrolably, grap something to apply pressure and seek medical attention immediately!
