Squeak, squeak, squeak,
*What in the world?*
I wandered as I headed out of the kitchen, and into my bedroom.
“Elliot
why in the world are you jumping on my bed?”
“Cause you said I’m
not aloud to jump on mine.” I couldn’t believe that kid! He could come up with
the funniest reasoning’s for anything.
“Where are your
sisters?”
“I think they went
outside to play.”
“So why aren’t you?”
“I don’t want to. I
want to play in here.” He said starting to jump again. I grabbed hold of him
and pulled him to me.
“There’s no jumping
on any of the beds.”
“But
its fun, Mamma!”
“How bout you come
and help me make cookies, You little jumping bean.”
The little Cub’s face lit up.
“Kay!” He said excitedly
running out of the room. I shook my head wondering where in the world that kid
got his energy. He had more than the rest of the children put together.
After about five
minutes of helping me, he looked up at me then ran outside, then back in with in
a few minutes.
“I got these for
you, Mamma!” I looked into the little boy’s tiny hands and smiled, he held a
handful of dandelions. I took them from him and picked him up, and held him
close. Elliot snuggled close to me. This is what this little guy had been
wanting all along. He sat up straight in my arms and looked to the living room.
Then pointed.
“In there Mamma1” He
told me. Wondering what he ment, I headed that way.
“Here” He said
pointing to my chair. I went to put him in it.
“NO!” Elliot screatched into my ear.
“What is it?”
“You sit! Here!” He
responded. I understood them, I sat down with him in
my lap. And started rocking. As I held him I wondered
how much attention and love did this little boy and his sisters
get when they were together. I know Sky was a handful when I got her, not right
away though. But soon after. She seemed to settle more
after I had gotten Darcy and Bliss. Sky seemed to thribe
on that. While Elliot seems to thribe more on being
held and touched. None of the others are like that, not even Joy, who has shown
her indepentce several times, along with the control
that she has over the two younger ones. Something that I had found out is their
mother would leave for days on end, only coming home maybe once in a month or
so. When she did she was harsh on all three, Joy had told me that it was mostly
Skyla that she was hard on though for some reason. That the little girl
couldn’t answer. Seeing the tears, I understood, I pulled the tough but sweet
little girl to me.
“It’s alright now,
little one, I’m not leaving you, or any of these children. I may go on a trip once in awhile, but I
always come back in a day or so. “ I thought about how
that little girl had looked at me with all that doubt .
“I mean it Joy, I’m
not going anywere, and if I would go on a trip, I
would tell you and I would tell you when I’d be back.” I told her. The child
relaxed as I spoke and soothed her. When I looked at her, she had fallen asleep
just like the little boy that was in my lap at that moment. As Elliot slept, I
looked out the window at the girls, that’s when I noticed that Chace was up and running with them, I was amazed at how
that Chace, Bliss, Scarlet, and Rei will never
remember how or why they had been put up of adoption, or what kind of past they
had. They were full of innocence, something that I
could tell that had been taken from both Darlita, and Joy. Tanjia
had lost some of it but not much. The other children seemed to haven’t a care of what had happened in their lives. As far
as they were concerned they were with their mother, and that’s all there was to
it.
