“Mamma! Look at Elliot! He’s silly!” Kenya spoke out
as she and the others laughed, I turned to see my 6 year old son, sitting there
on the floor. I quickly
had to cover my mouth to keep from laughing. He was supose to be up here at the table with the rest of them
working on school work. But here he was on the floor, with what looked like a
bag of balloons, where and how he had gotten it was beyond me, but he was
taking them using the static from where ever he could reach, and sticking them
to himself. There wasn’t
one inch of that boy didn’t have a balloon stuck to him.
He looked at me
grinned and said,
“I
the balloon guy! Don’t
touch me I go BOOOM!” That did it I was practically rolling with laughter when
he said that, it was also the way he said it. His whole face lit up when he said Boom. Then he sat down
on the floor as hard as he could making the ones stuck
on his backside pop all at once. He laughed and grinned at the joke himself.
After collecting myself, I spoke to him,
“Alright Elliot, get
on back up there and get busy again.” He wrinkled his nose the same way that
Sky does at times. When she’s told to do something she doesn’t want to do, but
does it anyways. I then turned to Shanda and Joy to see how the two of them
were doing.
“SQRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!” The sound made me jump,
I turned to see Elliot playing with his pencil this time. I couldn’t believe
how this boy could turn the simplest thing into some type of noise maker.
Calmly I turned to him taking the writing tool out of his hand.
“Elliot,
You noisey!” I turned to the voice that spoke out,.
“Joy, you get back
to what your doing, and let me handle it.” I told her.
“But he’s being a,…”
“I said get back to
work and I’ll handle it.” After looking at me for a minute,
turned back to her paper.
“Elliot, you need to
try to get some of it done for me. Is it to hard?” He shook his head.
“Alright, then if
it’s not, then I want you to get it done then. “ That said I handed the pencil
back to him. Then headed over to Skyla to see how her letters were coming. I
noticed that she was staring at her brother, I looked back, he was standing on
the chair, and saying he was going to fly, as he climbed onto the table, I
quickly ran over to him and took him off the table,
“We do not stand on
the table Elliot Ixavior.” I told him. “I also
remember telling you to get your work done, now come with me.” I commanded him
taking him into the next room.
“No!” I heard Skyla
yell as she ran to me, she pounded her fists on my
wrist yelling, “leave my brother alone!”
“Skyla Videl go back in the kitchen and
get your work done.”
“No,” She answered
and stepped back putting her hands behind her. I sighed, as I shifted him so I
could grab her hand as well.
“Elliot, I want you
to stay in this corner until I come and get you.” I turned to Skyla,
“As for you little
girl, you know better than to smart back to me.” I scolded as I gave her a
swat. “Now I want you
to go to your room.” I ordered then headed back into the kitchen
to help the others with their work.
