“Brother! I here!”
“Kenya,
what for me!” I called to
her, catching up and grabbing hold of her, “You can’t be running from me like
that, not here.”
“I want my brother!”
“I know that, but
you have to be paticent then you’ll see him, but you have to walk with
me and not go ahead.” I told her. Knowing from what Ursa had told me I wasn’t
going to take that chance, and I wasn’t going to tell her about the possible
dangers.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“You fight well,
Timmy,” the child beamed, then stole a glance at Buddi who was standing on the other
side just seething with anger. That brat wasn’t hers and yet she spent all this
time with him, helping him with things she use to do for him, And now, she was praising him! Buddi couldn’t stand the
thought of it.
“This is STUPID I’m
not sticking around for this!” Buddi yelled out as he stormed away from the
two.
“Buddi Barbic, you
get back here!”
“Forget it! Just go
play with your New Cub!” Buddi yelled back. Ursa told Timmy he could go play.
“I just want to keep
practicing.” He told her. Sighing she answered,
“Very well, just
stay in this area, and do not go into the weapons room unless you want a repeat
of what happened earlier this morning. The Cub nodded rubbing his still sore
backside. Then went back to his practice.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Kennie, where here.” I shook her gently waking the child up, a little while back I had
started carrying her and she fell asleep. Now her eyes were wide,
“Brother!” She cried
out. “Brother! Brother!” She called out over and over.
“He’s probably on
the other side. Little One. And
can’t hear you.”
“I shout louder!”
Kenya stated. I just shook my head, there wasn’t
anyway to explane anything to her. At
this point.
“Brother! Brother, I
get you!” She called out as loudly as she could. That time heads poked out to
see what could be causing the commtion. A gaint of a bear, with a single patch over his eye stopped
us,
“Hey Gritti,”
“WE Here to see Big Brother!” The child
beside me spoke out.
“Kenya hush” I spoke
sternly covering her mouth with my hand.
“That wild cub’s
down that way.” He answered gestering in the opposite
of which he was
going. Thanking him, we headed that way,
“Big
Brother! I here you home,”
Kenya said running to
Timmy. He never seen it coming and fell flat on his backside,
“Ouch! Watch it you,
Runt!” He snapped pushing her off. Then stood up. He
blushed as he heard someone clear their throat. We all turned to see Ursa, and Buddi behind us.
“Sorry,
Kenni.” He said hanging his
head. I stood there in amazement, this couldn’t be my son, this one actually
apologies. My son didn’t
do that! Yet he was doing it and in just a week!,
I turned to Ursa, to ask how she did it.
“That’s some kid you
got there I’ll tell you.” She said as she headed over to him. Buddi behind her.
“I want you two
sparing for a bit.”
“There’s no way I’ll
spare with the likes of him.” The older cub snapped folding his arms.
“I wouldn’t want to
spare with you eather!” Timmy replied back.
“The both of you
will do as I say, or there will be some serious consequences!” Ursa said
raising her voice a bit. Buddi walked over to where a couple weapons laid, and
picked up one of the spears.
“I can’t stand you,
but, its not worth getting in trouble for.” He said
heading over to the center. I watched him do the same. Only he sneered at the
other and pointed the spear at Buddi,
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Where Mamma,”
“She went to see
Timmy, Elliot.”
“I want her back
here!” He said sitting on the floor and folding his arms tightly against his
chest. Then yelled as loudly as he could.
“I WANT MY
MAMMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Darlita knelt to his leavel.
“She’ll be back
later tonight, maybe you could drawl or something.”
“No,
Not without Mamma.” Darcy
sighed as she spoke to herself,
“Your
defiantly related to Sky, just as stubborn as she is.” He just sat there with
his arms crossed.
“Fine sit there like
that,” She said as she headed out to see what some of the others were doing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Is that all you
got?” Timmy yelled as Buddi swung his spear towards him. He jumped back and,
attacked by swiping at the older cub’s feet. Only Buddi managed to jump over
it. Knocking Timmy to the ground with his own.
“Try
to out smart me again, cub.”
He called out.
“You bet I
will.” I turned to Ursa,
“You’d think the two
were related by the way they fought.”
“That’s not
possible.”
“I know. Just seems
like it.” I responded as I looked to see what Kenni was doing.
“Kenya! Get back
here!” I called running to her. She had started to head towards the boys.
Grabbing her I smacked her backside,
“You stay up here
with us, Kenya, can’t you see what they are doing! You could get hurt going
down there like that!” She looked at me, “Besides you know your
not to wonder off like that.”
“I wasn’t wondering
off, I was going to my brother!” She said trying to rip her arm out of my hand.
“You have to promise
to stay here before I let go.”
“Fine, I do it.” She
said in a huff.
“Good enough for
me.” I sighed.
We watched as the
three of the cubs played around for a little while after the boys had finished
their training. I looked into the sky,
seeing that it was starting to get dark. I turned to Kenya.
“Were going to have
to get going Sweetheart,”
“Timmy, we go home
now!” My heart fell, as I picked her up.
“Sorry, Baby, it’ll be
a little while yet before Timmy comes home.”
“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” That little girl’s cry could be heard all
through out Ursalia. I as tears started to fall from both myself and my
daughter. I was having a hard time trying not to turn back and tell him to come
with us. I knew this is what he needed.
I put my hand on Kenya’s head protectively as I walked away.
