“You guys back!” I
nodded as I helped Joy from the wagon. Then turned to the other children who
crowded around me so thick it was as if they were trying to knock me down or
something.
“I missed all of you
as well, Little Ones.” I said motioning them back inside. It was about noon, so
I told the children they could play in the little playhouse I had built off to
the side for them to play in through the long winter days. They all ran that direction all but Darcy,
she headed to her book that she was reading. I walked over to her, and took the
book from her,
“As much as I like
to see you read, I want to see you play as well Dar,
so go one and play.”
“But I,…”
“There’s plenty of
time in the day for you do read later, for now I want you doing something
else.” Sighing she walked out to the playhouse.
I normally didn’t discourage reading, but she did it way to much, from
the time she got up, until she went to bed. True she did her chores but I also
wanted her to do other things as well. I walked over to where Rei was sitting
and playing with a toy. I felt a tug on me, I turned to see Bliss behind me, I picked her up and nuzzled into me.
“Me Mamma” She said
as she looked to Chace, I laughed at her,
“You teasing him,
Bliss?” she grinned as if she was answering,
“Up,
Mamma! Up” I leaned down
and picked up Chace so that I was holding both of my
older babies. Chace looked at Bliss with this serious
look, as if he was saying,
“I got up here anyways.”
I laughed as I put them down telling them to gl play
as well.
That’s when I
noticed there was only three babies there when there
was supose to be four.
“Guys have you seen,…”
“I was cut off by a
cry from up the stairs. I looked in that direction,
“Scarlet! How in the
world did you get up there?” I asked walking up to get her. She latched onto me
as if she was scared to death. I rubbed her back to sooth her as I walked down
with her.
I handed her bottle
to see if it would calm her a little. It didn’t she didn’t even want it. I took her
over to the rocking chair and sat down trying to figure out what to do, then it
hit me, I got up and took her to Rei and sat her down.
It worked. This twin
thing was something that took some learning that’s for sure. Those two didn’t
mind if one of them was a little far from each other as long as it wasn’t too
long, if that happened, the other wouldn’t leave the other for awhile. Still I
was wondering how Scarlet had gotten up the stairs. I watched as she went from
all fours to sitting, she sat there staring at her sister for a little while. The to my amazement I watched Rei get up on her fours and
start crawling as well. I looked at them in shock, now
both were on the move, now I didn’t have two crawling children I had three, Chace had skipped walking and went straight to
running. I sighed, as I watched the
twins crawl about the floor, then watched as Scarlet started towards the
stairs,
“So that’s how you
did it?” I said picking her up and taking her back to the middle of the floor.
I turned hearing the banging of a cupboard door. I turned to see Chace trying to open it. But couldn’t get
it yet. I ran over to him. And
picked him up and took him back out to the living room and put him back in the
middle of the floor trying keep all of them in eye
shot. It wasn’t working. They seemed to be having a good time giving me a run
for my money, I was glad that I had Tanni helping
Darcy while I was away. This was certainly turning into a wild goose chase, or
should I say wild baby chase.
