I woke hearing Darlita shouting at Elliot, about something. I checked on the baby who had been starting to eat less now, and was at an hour instead of half hour. And had just eaten so I knew she would be fine. Then walked out. I had to laugh my six year old son, had her bra on the outside of his clothes and was using it as a set of blinders on his eyes. I couldn’t help it, I was falling on the floor laughing so hard. Darcy looked at me,

“MOM!” That snapped me out of it, none of the kids had ever called me Mom, it was always Mamma,

“Elliot, you need to get that off, its not actually nice to be running around the house in other’s underclothing.” I said pulling the child to a stop. Elliot took the bra off his face, and walked over to Darcy handing it to her, he looked right at her saying,

Your no fun.” Then took off running in another direction. I shook my head wondering where in the world did that kid get his energy. I wanted a little bit of it.

Darcy, come with me, I want you to learn something new. I think its alright, if you start learning this.” I called to her, she followed me into the bedroom.

“I want you to learn how this thing works, and how to feed her, cause it’s a little different then feeding one of the others a bottle since she’s just starting to suckle. Her eyes aren’t even opened yet, Darcy,” I told her then pointed to the wash basin, then heading over to it myself.

“You need to wash your hands first. And you are not to touch anything other than the basket’s lid, the baby, and the medicine dropper. Other wise, you can spread things to her real easy.” Darcy nodded as I headed over, and picked the baby up,

“She’s smaller than a normal baby since she’s would still be in her mother at this moment if it was the way it would have worked out. I placed the baby in Darcy’s arms. She looked at me with amazement.

“What I want you to is fill that dropper, make sure with a finger first that is warm, should be, cause that keeps it warm. And your not to use any other milk than what’s in this chest. Now take the dropper and put it on the side of her cheek so that it just rolls down. She is trying to suckle it now, so take it easy, don’t do a bunch at a time.” I watched Darcy as she did as I asked. I wasn’t ready to leave her with her yet, I was just going to teach her, anyways this would be a valueable tool later in life. Its gone? Alright, get the air out the same way that you do any other baby.  Then what you do is put her into the basket, and make sure these nobs never get touched, they have to stay at the same place they are now, I’ll tell you if I change it, alright.” She nodded.

“Good girl.”

I heard a knock at the door. Lightning stood there with the look of panic on her face.

“What’s going on, where’s your mother Lightning,”

“She told me to come and get you, Selena, in the other side of these woods, there are some cubs that need help, Mom tried to get them out, but they back up farther, and won’t come out, and they look really bad.” She said with wide eyes.

“Darcy, the baby should be fine, just keep an eye on the others, Tanni, you help alright.” They both nodded. I then followed Lightning to where Stormy was knelt down in front of a tree trunk, She looked up, she looked crossed between mad and conserned, I looked at what she was calling at. My mouth dropped, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing, a set of Barbic triplets, girls they were identical , one of the rarest of Barbic clans. I looked at them they were a mess,  they looked like they never had a bath in their lives, nothing to eat and on their body were cuts, and brusies to be seen, I couldn’t tell to much more without  them coming out.

I turned to Lightning,

“Lightning, go back to the house, and bring three blankets, tell Darcy to get you the thickest ones, and tell her to get some hot soup on the stove and tell her to set a place for three new cubs. And tell her to make hot chocolate as well. Bring the blankets to me. As fast as you can.” As soon as the girl ran off. I walked to the tree,

“Hi little ones,” they didn’t speak, but backed up when Stormy came near, I turned to her,

no offence, but could you go back a little bit. I think they’re fear you,”

“Why would they do that?” I looked at her for a moment,

Its because your human to them, they’re afraid of humans, since I’m Gummi it might help.” She nodded, I got on the ground and called to them again, this time one of them spoke, in Barbic, Something I didn’t understand, I answered back though with

Si nyie tyie, aez.”

The same little girl called out. Aez muian?” She asked me.

Si Selena,  I called out to her, the little girl answered back,

Si Melody.”  Stormy looked at me like I had two heads or something,

“I’m talking in Barbic to them.” She nodded, I called back to Melody. As she started to creep out of the trunk first, she seemed to be the leader of the group.

“Melody, “ I pointed to the other two,

Cyanne,  Chyanne.” She said as she came out a little more, I held my hand out to her, just as Lightning came around the corner. Melody ran back.

desai-fessak muian, Melody.” I called to her as Lightning went to her mother after handing me the blankets. I set the other two  on the ground although the snow was still there, Melody came back out as soon as Lightning was out of sight. I wrapped the warm blanket around them. She stared in disbelief as if she had never seen a blanket before. The other two followed her actions, and came out as well, I handed them blankets as well.

I looked at them they were so skinny even for little girls, there was not one way to tell them apart at this moment, I thought maybe I would find one after I got them a bath. But right now all I was worried about was getting them something to eat. I put them on the back of the horse that I had brought with me, the touch of the animal frightened them a little bit. But they found it alright, and held on when I told them to. I could see several cuts that looked infected. When we got in the door the three were amazed at the other children that were greeting them. Timmy took charge of the other siblings, telling them to back up and let them be.  I thanked him. As I led them to the kitchen where three bowls  of soup sat waiting for them, as well as the cups of hot cholocate.  They looked at me in wonder, I nodded,

Gayn  Melody started first then nodded to the other two , who started as well,

let me know when they’re done,” I told Darcy as I headed into the bedroom to feed Sukura again. Just as I had changed her, Darcy knocked.

“They’re finished.”

“Thank you, I’ll be right out.” I called placing the baby back into the basket.”  Then headed out. The three looked so warn that I dicided that I would skip the bath tonight and just clean them with a wet cloth and worry about the bath tomarrow night. Cyanne loved that cloth, she took it and started to try herself. While Melody loved the face that soap contaner was making bubbles. Chyanne watched as her sisters played. I noticed she was about to fall asleep, so I walked over to her and reach out my hands to her. She ducked, I then knelt down to her level,

Chyanne, Vecson, si nyie tyie  She looked at me again, again I reached my hand out to her, she slowly reached hers out to me.

*What, or who had messed with these little girls!* I wondered it was making me mad. She took my hand slowly I lead her into the living room away from the others, and sat in the rocker out in the living room.

“I know you can’t understand me, but I do this for all the children here.” I laid her head back against my shoulder and started rocking, at first it seamed to startle her. As soon as I had all three in bed asleep, I turned to the other children,

“I’m going to tell you right now, that I don’t want any of you going outside at all until I figure out what’s going on. The other thing is you kids are going to be good with them around, if there’s in trouble from you there will be big trouble out in the barn understood, now its late, I want all of you to go onto bed, try not to wake them. If they do, tell Darcy and she will come and wake me up.” They nodded and did as I asked.
