Buddi woke feeling both cold and wet. Trying to figure out what was up, he looked around to see Skyla had climbed into his bed in the middle of the night. He rolled his eyes as he woke her telling her to go to her own bed, so that he could clean everything up before Ursa or the others seen. Skyla shouted at Buddi telling him he was mean, and ran into Gritti’s room.

*Great Ursa will know for sure now.* He sighed glade that the child would soon be going home. Turning as the door opened Buddi was surprised, but grateful that Gritti was coming in instead of Ursa he knew he may be in worse with her than him. Skyla stood behind him, she poked her head out as Gritti lectured him on being nicer to ones younger than him. Seeing Ursa opening the door, Buddi ran to her, telling her what had happened. Ursa glared at her friend a second, then at the small girl. She motioned for the child to come to her. Not wanting to find out if she could get into more trouble Sky headed over to Ursa, and stood in front,

“Skyla, Did Buddi tell you that he didn’t want you in his bed?” The child nodded.

“Well then don’t fight about it and go back to your own bed.” Skyla was about to say something but stopped when she seen the glare that Ursa was giving her. Then walked to her room. Ursa spoke to Gritti,

“You and I will speak in the morning, but right now, I tend to help Buddi get his bed cleaned and him back into his own bed.” Gritti nodded and left to his own room.

I was up way earlier than the children. I had already tended to the animals, and had started on the inside of the barn, I wanted to get that part started before the children had gotten up, and the day started to get crazy. I had the first room about made, when I heard the sound of footsteps coming in from behind, Joy stood behind me, I was surprised since she was normally one of my late sleepers, and it was still dark out.

“Joy, why are you up, and where’s your coat and shoes?” I asked realizing she was also still in her bed clothes.

I,.. I,..Seeing that something had upset her. I took my coat that I had set aside awhile ago and wrapped around her as I picked her up, and held her close. She was trembling and I held her.

“Joy Baby, what happened?” She answered by burring her face into me.

“That’s alright you don’t have to tell me. I’ll just hold you for a bit.” I told her sitting on the crate that I had set out the night before, and started rocking her slowly just letting her cry out what ever was bothering her. She soon relaxed and fell asleep again. I would have left her in the barn with me but I didn’t want the noise to bother her. So I took her inside and laid her in my own bed. She stirred a bit. But settled when I told her to just sleep.

By the time the other children had started to get up, and the sun as well, I had the first room finished and the second one started. All I had to do was get the isolation and dry wall up and Tanni who had claimed this spot the day before, could paint it herself the way that she wanted. Each on got to point out the spot they wanted there room to be, and all would paint their own the way they wanted no matter what I thought. It was their choice of course the younger ones would have some help getting where they couldn’t but they even had all the say in their own room.  I went head stopped to go see everyone, and let Darcy or Tanni who ever know to let Joy sleep, and that I was out here working.

Skyla heard the commotion, she knew that voice, Ryo and he was picking on Buddi, about something. She didn’t know what came over her but Skyla ran up at full speed and the heel of her foot connected with Ryo hard, making him fall to the ground. Buddi stared at her in shock. Sky looked at Buddi and spoke,

“You an ibiot?” Skyla asked “You just stanb there with out mouth open like you  ready to catch flies or something.” Sky said as the ran to her famous tree before Ursa could get a hold of her. Buddi was still dazed when Ursa came out to see what happened. She raised an eyebrow at Ryo hearing what had happened.

“So a little girl has the power to bring you down, Ryo.” The Barbic glared at the leader, from where he stood. The leader sighed if it wasn’t one thing its another. She headed out to where she knew the child would be.

“Skyla Videl get down here”

“No you mad at me, I was just helping Buddi, that guy mean to him.”

“I know that, but you can’t go doing it like that!” Ursa called out trying to stay calm. She although she didn’t approve of what the child did she thought it was kind of funny to see that guy brought to his knees by a five year old. He would have new respect for the child.

“Now come on down,”

“No hurt if I come down!” Buddi had stayed behind and was glad, cause he was ready to laugh at the kid’s logic, and how smart she was for getting herself up a tree that Ursa couldn’t climb.

He could hear Ursa call to the little girl again. After what the child had done for him, he couldn’t see her getting into trouble, and walked over to the two,

“Sky, come with me instead.”

“You not leave me?”

“Not this time, I’m sorry for that. Trust me, I learned my lesson the hard way.” Skyla looked to Ursa the to Buddi, then climbed down into Buddi’s arms and snuggled up to him. Seeing what had happened, Ursa decided to let her off with a firm warning, Buddi warned Sky as well that Ursa would keep that promise if she did it again, and that she was letting her off since she was defending someone else. He then let her know if she ever did that kind of thing again he himself would see to it that she was really be
