“What do you want to
do, Sky” Buddi asked glad that he got to do this instead of his training for
the day,
“I want to over
there!” She said taking off before Buddi could say anything. He couldn’t
believe for a little girl fast she could go.
“Wait
Sky!”
“But I want to see
what that is!” She said pointing to down in the caverns.
“I don’t think we
should go in there, Ur,…” He was cut off by Skyla
heading that direction. He couldn’t believe how much energy she had. He
couldn’t help but wonder if he was that bad, when he was her age. Not having
the chance to find out, Buddi started running after her.
“Look how high we
are, Duddi!”
“I, I, I see that,”
Replied not wanting to stand there long.
Skyla looked to Buddi.
“You no like?”
“No I don’t Sky, I
don’t like being up this high.”
“Oh,” The little
girl looked around for a moment, “Let’s get down then!” She said taking hold of
Buddi and trying to head down.
“I don’t think so,
Sky, we need to stay with in ear shot, of Ursa.” Skyla made a face looked at
Buddi, while in thought, then asked to play hide and seek. As soon as Buddi
started to count Sky took off, and hid herself well.
Buddi looked for her
for a good fifteen minute before he started to panic,
“Buddi what are you
doing?” The Barbic cub turned to see Ursa standing there,
“I was playing a
game with Sky and she’s still hiding.” Ursa nodded asked.
“How long have you
been looking.” Buddi told her. He backed up seeing the
look in her face.
“You lost her, you
can find her. Then YOU deal with her, she was under your watch.” Buddi nodded
and started again, trying to think of where a five year old child could hide.
Then it hit him the hillside that they were at.
From where Skyla sat
she started to cry she had got herself lost and she knew it,
“DUDDI!” She cried out several times.
“How’d you get
yourself clear out here, Little Lass!” Skyla knew that
voice, but didn’t say anything just threw herself at Plucki, and just let the
tears flow. As she cried she heard another set of voices behind her, she knew
one of them, but the other she didn’t
“Cuddi! You here?”
“Oh
no, what she! Doing here?”
Cubbi asked backing up and standing behind Tavi. Hoping that
she would keep the little girl away from him. Tavi was simply taken to
the little girl.
“Hi Skyla” she said
as walked over to where Plucki and the little girl was standing,
“Don’t go near her,
Tavi, she’s dangerous!” Plucki just shot him a look, and Cubbi backed up
knowing that he was pushing it talking like that.
“Where
you staying little Lass?”
“I
Skyla not Ass!” Skyla
stated remembering that she hated being called that.
“I stay with Mister
Ursa.” She said taking Tavi’s hand and following her to a log and sat with her.
“I’ll go see if I
can find anyone that’s looking for her.” Plucki said as jumped onto his steed.
Tavi nodded knowing that she had the child well involed
with what she was doing.
Tabi I do trick to!” Skyla said showing her how she
could pick up the sticks and other small objects. Tavi
was amazed that the little girl could do this.
“Once Mamma got mad cause I pinned Timmy to a tree, doing that, he was so mean
to me.” Tavi laughed at Skyla’s little tale.
By the time Plucki
road up with Buddi, Skyla had laid herself in Tavi’s lap and had fallen asleep
with the older cub stroking her hair just as her aunt would with her on occation.
“I talked to Ursa
and told her what was going on, and told her that I would send both cubs to her
in the morning,” Plucki said taking the small girl inside.
“Cubbi, you should
come on as well. Tavi its late.” Buddi followed
without words. As the others did as well.
