“Eat Skyla” Grubbi
told her as he put a plate of food in front of her. She shook her head no. Just
then Buddi came in along with Ursa, Grubbi put their plates in front of them,
they wasted no time in eating theirs, Ursa turned to
Sky,
“Eat.” Again Sky
shook her head.
“Well your not
getting up until you do.” Ursa told her sternly.
“You having trouble
with the little girl are you Ursa,”
“Gritti, your not helping.”
Gritti laughed and sat by Skyla, She stared at him.
“How about you eat
that and I’ll show you something interesting.” Sky nodded and ate as quickly as
she could. Then jumped on o Gritti’s
lap.
“I ready now Gribbi” Everyone had to stop eating to keep from choking at
the way she said his name. Gritti gathered her up and took her out of the room
and out to the hill side, showing her everything. She leaned into Gritti in
content. In about an hour Gritti let her
down so that she could explore. Ursa came to join them a little while later,
and watched.
“Who knew.” She said amazed. Just as Skyla took a tumble over a
root letting her lungs
do what any child of that age are known for. Letting
her lungs loose as she started to cry. Ursa went over and tried to pick
her up, only she pushed Ursa out of the way and reached for Gritti. Ursa was
kind of taken back by this. And took off to find Buddi knowing that he wouldn’t
do that to her.
“I know, I know,
Ursa its time to train.”
“There is no
training Buddi, I just want to spend time with you that’s all.” Buddi stared at
her in shock. “Okay.” He said unsure but started talking to her before she
could change her mind. He was shocked as she pulled him to her and just held
him close. He hadn’t felt that for a long time. Buddi started to think it was
great that Skyla had come about.
“Gribbi what that?” Skyla kept asking that with everything she found.
“Gribbi
watch this!” Skyla called as she climbed the tree in front of her, and kept
climbing, the tree was bigger than what she was use to seeing, Gritti called to
her telling her to come back down she was going to far. He then started to
climb up only to find that the branch was strong enough for her, but not for
him,
“Skyla come down
from there,”
“NO, Now I can see
when Mamma comes back!” Gritti groaned as he tried to find away to get her
down. Just then Ursa walked by.
“How’s it going Gritti.”
“Just
wonderful.” He responded
“Well where is she?”
Gritti didn’t say anything, just pointed upwards. Seeing the child that high
up, Ursa stared at Gritti,
“How in the world
could you let her climb up there like that!”
“She ran up there
before I knew what she was doing.” Gritti said in his own defense. Ursa turned
to where Skyla was.
“Young Lady, you get
down here right now!” That felt strange to Ursa, she wasn’t use to scolding a
girl,
“No! I stay here.”
“You’ll come down
here if you know what’s good for you!” Skyla shook her head.
“You know Ursa, I think you might have met your match in the stubborn
department.” Ursa glared at Gritti for a moment not in the mood for the joke,
“Shut up and think
about away to get her down.” Ursa snapped.
While they were staying out of sight Buddi watched and kind of started
to feel sorry for the little girl.
