“Oh Mamma, you
should have seen him, Red was so MAD at Elliot,” I had to laugh at the game
that I had been told that the Color Keeper had walked in on.
“I bet,” I answered
knowing all to well about that temper that he has. I turned to my son,
“I can’t believe
that you actually mixed the oil and soap together making yourself that little
slip and slide.”
“I did Mamma, it was
fun. Me and this girl that was cranky most of the time played, another played
to and she didn’t want to play nice so the cranky one made the other’s hair
stand up and they got into a fight.” He told me using every ounce of the energy
that he had.
“I bet it was fun.”
“Red,
fell flat on his backside, Mamma, it was pretty funny, he didn’t even see it
coming in fact, Stormy says that I’ll be part of the plan.” I smiled at Tanjia’s energy over this. They were all pretty riled up. I
had to think of away to calm them all down for a bit.
“Children, go ahead
and go into the living room and I’ll read an extra story to you.” Every one ran
to the room and waited that’s when I took notice that Joy wasn’t there yet. I
turned just in time to see her carry Sukura out of my
bed room. I ran over and grabbed the baby out of her hands, and scolded her
about it,
“Who said you could
walk around with Sukura?” I asked sternly. Joy looked
to the floor without answering.
“Joy haven’t I gotten on you about carring
Rei and Scarlet before?” She nodded.
“Then what makes you
think that your able to carry Sukura like that, she’s
way to little for you to be doing that!” I noticed that the other kids
were stareing at us. I wasn’t caring I was pretty
upset with her. She does it all the time with the twins, and I had told her
repeatedly not to. Now she did it with this one.
“Go to your room,
Joy.” I told her sternly, then went and put the baby into her cradle. And read
to the rest of the children.
“Mamma, can I,…”
“Skyla Videl, what did I tell you that would happen if you went
outside of the bedroom again asking to for the punishment to be over?” I sighed
deeply, taking her by her arm and leading her outside,
“Don’t worry about
the cold Sky, you’ll be plenty warm enough in a
moment.” I said shutting the door so that there were no drafts coming in, and
taking the spoon down. I knew I had to do something and make her learn that she
can’t keep going up and down the stairs begging to be let free. I knew what I
had to do, before I could back down, I pulled her over my knees and pulled her
pants to her knees and let that spoon connect with her backside several times,
until she was sobbing in my lap. Once everything was back into place, I pulled
her back on my lap and held her close.
And told her how I cared for her, and how what
she was doing wasn’t good. I always hold
the children afterwards, that’s way they know that
crime that they had committed was forgiven. Once she had calmed down, I told
her that she had to stay in her room a little longer now, and that spanking
would be repeated if she came down asking over and over when her grounding was
over.
I walked back into
the living room and started another book, As I did, Cyanne walked up to me.
“Skyla
hycan?”
“Yes, Cyanne, Skyla’s in trouble. That’s why she does that.” Cyanne nodded and started to head after Skyla, I called her
back.
“Just let her alone,
she needs to be by herself right now.” Cyanne seemed
to understand what I had said and came back and sat down. I could see the bond
that had grown between Skyla and this little Barbic cub.
