“Mamma, we go out?”
I turned and looked to my yellow cub, and smiled then looked to the window to
see what it looked like.
“Elliot, it’s too
cold out for you to play out there, its to cold for
you to even walk out to the playhouse.” He sighed and leaned back. That’s when
I noticed he was a little less active for some reason.
“You
alright?” He nodded. I put
down my work and put him into my lap.
“Now I know that’s
not true, normally your running through the house like
your tails, on fire.”
“I just don’t want
to that’s all.” I nodded and took his word on it, and pulled him closer to me. Then started to rock slowly. I knew he and the others were
tired of being cooped up like this. I didn’t like seeing them like that either.
I was trying to think of some type of activity for them to do. I took note that
the child in my lap had gone into a limpish state, I
looked down to see that he had fallen a sleep. Just letting him lay there I
thought. I had to laugh though it was still pretty early in the morning. I
heard footsteps coming down the stairs.
“Mamma?” I sighed knowing who it was.
“Get back to your
room, Skyla your still in big trouble for your attacking your brother the other
morning.
“But I board.”
“Maybe you’ll think
about how board you are now, the next time you want to do what you doing. Now
get up stairs!” I told her starting to let my voice raise a little. Not wanting
to upset me more, she ran to her room. I sat back and sighed as I looked at my
son, who was still as sleep. Hearing the cry of Sukura,
I had to get up and lay Elliot on the couch. Then went to get
her. I had taken the warm basket way, and started using a cradle with
her. She loved it, or so it seemed. Walking into the room I called to her, the
little girl had seemed to had taken more of the barbic
side even more now than before, there wasn’t even a trace of Glen besides a
couple small details just in her hands and feet, and a couple of dimples that
she had. I picked her up and decided that I could let her out of the bedroom,
and let her start meeting her siblings, I know they
had been waiting for her to come out of here for a while now.
Sukura curled into me as tightly and close as she
could. I talked to the small cub for a moment.
Before hand as I gave her a bottle, I was amazed that this little girl
had pulled herself from the edge of death to someone full of life beating all
the odds that were against her. While I knew there was opsticals
that she would still have to go through, I knew that the major stuff was over.
As soon as she was finished with her meal, I took her out into the living room,
Sukura’s tiny crystal eyes looked around trying to
figure out what was up. I had to laugh, realizeing
that she had only known the bedroom until now.
“WOW! She’s out of
the bedroom!” I turned seeing Joy running up from behind me.
“Sukura ready to join all of you now.” I told her. And remembering a promise I had
made to Joy a while back I gestured her to the other
end of the couch. Knowing what I was going to do, ran
over and sat and reached her arms out. I had to laugh she certainly was an old
pro at this. I laid the infant in her arms, and just let them sit together for
a bit. Joy looked up to see Darcy and Tanni, walking
in.
“Stay away from her,
she’s my sister.” I was surprised at her
comment. Normally she just let everything flow the way it was going, but now
she was being different. I decided she had enough and started to take the baby
away. Joy batted my hands away. I had to think for a moment.
“Joy, it’s time for
her to go back to bed now, Sweetheart, you can hold her again later.” She
glared at me but let me take the infant from her. I couldn’t believe how much
she and Sky looked the same when they did that.
“You keep that up
and you won’t hold her later.” I told her sternly but then told her to go play
as I took the baby back into the bed room.
