“Cubbi, what is that you see there in the sky?”

“I see the stars, Plucki,”

“No, Bright Eyes. Don’t call me Plucki, call me Daddy”

“Alright, Daddy.” Cubbi said as he looked at his father and stared at him.

“You know son, all those stars will never keep me from getting to you” Cubbi stared even more at his father, not knowing those kind of words being spoke to  him before.  The cub jumped a bit as gentle hands touched his back.

“Don’t fret my son; I’m not going to hurt you. I have no desire to do something of that kind of nature. I could never have that type of thing going through my mind.” The cub stared at him more in depth, just drinking in this affection like it was water and he had been through trip a dry land.

“Daddy, can you hold me like this all the time?” Plucki nodded and held to the child tighter to him. In contentment, Cubbi snuggled closer to him trying to just let all the feeling wash over his body.

Before too long the cub had fallen into a peaceful sleep.
