“Darcy? Are you
awake yet?” there wasn’t an answer so I headed to get the other children’s
breakfast, I was stopped in the doorway of the kitchen.
“Elliot, Kenya, and
Shanda what are you doing?” The two of the three were standing on the other and
were trying to get something out of the freezer.
“Getting ice cream;”
“You haven’t had
your breakfast yet.”
“But we want it”
Shanda whimpered as I pulled her down off her brother.
“Shanda don’t even
start.” She glared at me and started to head out the door, I blocked it
quickly,
“Shanda Kiri you run off and you’ll be stuck in your room for the
next three days, do I make myself clear on that?” She
nodded.
“Good Girl,” I
turned to the others,
“Now I know I’ve
told you that your not to be having that stuff for
breakfast, and I know that you know that you have to ask first.” I told them
taking the container out of the freezer and putting it into the sink.
“Since you did that,
there’s not going to be any left for sure now. The three watched in tears as
the ice cream started to melt.
“Your
Mean Mamma! Mean!”
“Kennie
please head to your room until you can cool off.”
“But it’s not fair!”
“So it’s not fair,
get to your room. I’ll call you when breakfast is ready.” The three year old
stomped out, I turned to the other two and told them
to head to their rooms as well.
After what seemed
like a battle zone I headed into Darcy’s room to see that she was up.
“Are you feeling a
bit better now?” She nodded as I sat on
her bed and she climbed into my lap on her own. I let her sit there for a bit,
before I asked her if she wanted to try and eat something she just shook her
head no, and leaned closer to me.
“alright
You don’t have to not right now anyways.” I told her softly. “In a little while
you have to have something though.” Darcy nodded as she closed her eyes again.
I just held her close for a time, before hearing what seemed like another war
breaking out. Sighing I laid the sleeping girl on the bed and headed out to see
what was going on.
“Cyanne!
That’s enough” I said pulling her away from the sibling she was attacking, I
looked to the other one, he looked fine,
“I didn’t do
anything this time, I was walking down the hall when
she jumped me.” I looked to Joy who was standing there to see if she had seen
any of this happen.
“He’s telling the
truth,”
“Why’d you do that
Cy?”
“Mad at him.”
“Why’s that?”
“He
a boy.” I had to fight to
keep from laughing at that comment for a moment, but quickly regained the
serious side of it.
“of
course he is, but that doesn’t mean you attack them!”
“But he wouldn’t let
me shoot the bow!”
“I told you last
night Cyanne, that you were to
young, Timmy’s just listening to what I told you.”
“But it’s not fair!”
“I don’t care if
it’s fair or not your not to act like that, Now I want
you in your room now! I’ll deal with you in a minute.” She sighed as she
stomped up the stairs,
“Are you alright
son?” He nodded as he headed back. I had to think about what I was going to do
about this. I wasn’t sure what to do on this, I didn’t want to hit for hitting,
getting the answer I headed to the child’s room.
“Cyanne,
I want you to stay in here for the rest of the evening, only time you can come
out is the bathroom. I’ll come and get you later when it’s time for your bath.
I’ve told you over and over not to fight with your siblings.” The child nodded
her head as I turned and walked out the door, on my way down the hall I stopped
and headed into her sisters rooms and shut and locked the side doors to Cyanne’s special door. The ones that lead
straight into her sisters rooms. I was going to make the point stick
this time hopefully by doing this. At least I was hoping to.
