“You wanted to see me Mamma?” I gestured for Darcy to come over to me,

“Yes I did, Sweetheart, its been awhile since you and I had any time together.”  told her taking the brush that she had in her hands and started to run the brush through her hair myself.

Were are the others?”

“Out playing in the new playhouse.” She nodded.

“So it’s just us for right now?” I nodded

“What do you want to do Dar?”

“I don’t know I really wanted to finish a book I was reading.”

“Why no t read it to me?”

“Na I don’t want to do that.” I then got an idea, and pulled her onto my lap, and Darcy’s stiffened but relaxed real quick and leaned back and rested a bit, I just rocked gently in the chair as we talked for a bit. I then noticed that it went quiet and she went still, taking note that she had fallen asleep. I smiled and just let her sit there for a while and held her tight. Seeing how late it was getting, I laid her on the couch and headed into the kitchen to start dinner.

As that was being finished I could hear the others coming in.

“Don’t wake Darcy,” I told them as I ushered them into the kitchen to eat and told them that she would eat when she got up. Seeing that it was pretty late, and she hadn’t gotten up yet, I walked over and that’s when I noted that she wasn’t feeling to good.

“Dar why didn’t you tell  me?

“I’m to old,”
“No your not, you can tell me, and I will help you to at least feel a little more comfortable” I told her while wanting to kick myself I hadn’t noticed before, why was that I couldn’t have been more mad at myself. She started to get up,

“No Sweety don’t get up, let me help you.”

“I’m fine and can do this myself,”

“Alright but I’m following you.” She let me do that and I let her do the rest, and told her that if she needed anything to just let me know, with the intercom. She nodded as  I hugged her goodnight. Walking through the halls and checking on the children was surprised to see Kenya still up.

“What are you still doing up Kenya Elisa I put you to bed a while ago.”

“I didn’t want to go to bed.” I sighed and put her back in there,

“You get up again and I will send you to bed earlier tomorrow night; is that understood?” She nodded.

“Goodnight” I told her as I headed out the door.
