“Joy!” Elliot cried out, “Joy joy!
Help me! I scared!” I heard the shouts and ran to my son,
“What the matter
sweetheart?“
“I want Joy!” He
cried
“Alright, hold on, I
believe she’s coming now.”
“Yeah I’m here,
Eli.”
“I scared, he come back,
me no like.” he stammered, leaning into the girl.
“It’s alright, he’s dead remember. Ather died in
front of us.”
“I know but I feel
him.”
“That cant be.” Joy told him.
“Elliot, would you
like to lay in Mamma’s bed for the rest of the night?”
The child nodded, and reached for me. And lets me carry him back to my room
where I held him tightly until he fell asleep again.
Waking up the next morning
I was freezing, turning I seen that Elliot had taken all of the blankets that
were on that bed and was wrapped in them. Sighing I just got up and headed out
to check on the rest of my children. Joy was looking at something on the back
of Skyla’s neck.
“What’s that?” I
asked taking a look.
I about t had a
heart attack,
“Father did that to
her once for crying, she was only two, he told her that the next time that he
heard her that he would tear her face off and give it to the wolves.” I made a
face as I looked at the swollen bump,

I hadn’t seen that before,
I wondered why.
“Mamma, it hurts.”
“It does Baby?” The
child nodded. And reached for me,
“Lets
go see Grubbi, and Ursa alright?” the child nodded,
“I see Gribbi too?”
“Yes, Sweetheart,
you can.” Skyla reached for me as I picked her up and held her close and told
the older ones where we were going.
“Hi Gribbi,”
“Sky,” Gritti said
taking the girl from my arms,
“Gritti I need to
talk to Grubbi, Sky needs him.”
“Why?” I reached over
and showed the Barbic the back of her neck; the thing had grown with in the
past several minutes. I was shocked and amazed that the thing had grown so
fast.
“Grubbi won’t be
back until morning but the two of you can stay here, he’s gone on an Herb hunt
for the night.” Ursa said coming down the hall,
“Sky can stay here
for a while if she wants I think that the place can use some entertainment.”
Skyla nodded and held to Gritti and said she wanted to stay
