I woke to hearing
Kenya fiddling around a bit. Walking into the room I had seen that she had
gotten herself up out of bed.
“Kenya Elisa what
are you doing up Young Bearess?”
“I board I want to
play.” I walked over and felt her forehead, it wasn’t that warm anymore, but
not normal either,
“I want you back in
that bed for right now little one.” I told her “You need to rest so that fever
doesn’t come back.”
“But,…”
“Bud nothing Kenya, your to stay there. Now I'm going to the barn to tend to the
animals, and your out of that bed when I come back I
will spank you. Is that understood,” She child nodded, As soon as I stepped out
my foot caught hold of something and I stumble a bit, catching my balance, I
looked to see what I had tripped on. My heart about stopped when I seen what I
did. I looked down the thinnest baby I had ever seen in my life. Gently I
picked him up. And looked at him.
“Tanni,
could you tend to the animals for me?”
“Sure
Mamma, why?” She asked then
looked over at the tiny new baby that laid in my arms.
She nodded without a word headed outside.
“So where did you
come from little one?” I asked unwrapping him and taking a look, his cord was
still there and bleeding a bit so I quickly tied it off, and cut the rest off.
Then ran a little warm water in a bowl and started using a cloth to clean him.
Seeing how beautiful he was I was amazed but I wondered how this little guy got
here. Quickly I had him cleaned and put into something warm, as well as gotten
a bit of warm milk into him. Seeing that
he was asleep I set out to get the cradle out for him and place it into my
room. I called to my children.
“I need to take a
trip to see Ulisa” They nodded I told them what to do and what was to be done
while I was away.
I looked to the child
that was still sleeping. Coming upon the large house, I knocked,
Charity opened the door and looked at me,
“Is your Fycan
home?” she nodded and ran to get her mother.
Ulisa came down the
stairs, feeding Lizzi as she walked, "Selena, what is it?"
I think they do door
to door drop offs now," I told her holding up my newest member, "I
found when I opened the door to head to the barn, I mean I about fell on him
Ulisa chuckled,
"Come on in." turning to Charity, she said, "can you take Lizzi
for Fycan?" Charity giggled and took the girl with her tail. Lizzi giggles
as Charity ran off
I followed her, and
spoke "He's got to be just hours old, I mean I had to close his cord
myself it was still open, and he was covered in the after birth
Ulisa nodded and
removed a folder, "I need to get your files their own binder," she
joked
"Funny, thing
is I agree." Just as I spoke the little guy started to whimper a bit
Ulisa chuckled and
said, "Okay, so probably born sometime earlier, right? ya
got a name? yeah, I'm calling him Jonathan Gregory, Jonni for short I
think the cub's Barbic
Ulisa writes this
new information down. "Okay...anything else.."
I don't know any other information on him, but since he was born just sometime
today I'm guessing he's not had those vaccines that he's needing,...
I'd like to go ahead
and do that while I'm hear then
Ulisa nods and leads
them upstairs once in the room I handed the baby to Ulisa
Ulisa smiled and
gently sat the baby down, retrieving three syringes; she gave the cub three
shots, each one in his backside and then a final one right at the base of his
rump
taking the crying
infant back into my arms I thanked her and asked her if there looked like
there's anything special I would have to do for him, then asked if she could
stop by sometime next week and get the rest of my children that had not had
theirs yet
Ulisa says, "I
think you got it covered and I'll do that” alright then thanks and sorry to have
bothered you like this.
I said wrapping little
Jonni back in his blanket
“It's no bother.
Well I guess I'll
see you in what about week?
She nodded,
"Right...good luck" waved as
I headed off
Ulisa smiled and
waved back
