“Mamma” I rolled over to see who was calling me.

“Anna what’s going on? Are you alright? Why are you up?”

“Cyanne’s crying Mamma and we can’t wake her up.” I nodded as I jumped out of bed real quick. And followed my daughter to the room they were sharing for the time being.

When I got there I couldn’t believe it the child was full of sweat and shaking like mad and crying out

“Cy, honey it’s Mamma,” The cries now started to turn into screams, I tried rubbing her back, it only seemed to make it worse. 

“Mamma, she okay?” Melody whimpered as her and Chyanne watched,

“She’ll be fine, but why don’t you two go share my bed with Peace so she doesn’t get scared, I’ll take care of Cyanne.

“Mel could you do Mamma a favor and bring me the communicator before you lay down again?” She nodded and did as I asked.

 

“Sorry to wake you so early Ulisa but I need help” She could here the screaming in that background,

As she screamed she began to gag. I tried again to touch her, so I could at least hold her in my arms, but she just screamed louder.

“I can’t get her to wake up.”

Ulisa could not have gotten over there faster had she flown. Rushing into the room, she swiftly restrained the fighting girl's arms and began to whisper something gentle in Barbic, in hope that it would cease her thrashing "Mortia kulion rea, mortia sasdo ceasa, mortia linen qas lea sycans; Lyui erasc yie tu sygan, nicsa, yie quian"

The screaming continued as I watched, this,

“I’ve tried everything I could to try and get her up, I even swatted her, nothing works. I can’t get her up.”

“Mamma, Cyanne going to be okay.”

“She’ll be fine, it’s just a dream she’s having, going back to bed.” She nodded and took off again. I turned back to Ulisa to see how she was doing

“She screams with every voice and every move,” the child then gagged again as her wails continued.

 Ulisa racked her brains, desperate and then on an impulse reached into the sack around her waist. Taking out an odd herb that Selena had never seen the Barbic bit off the top with her teeth, squeezed some juice into her hands and wiped the liquid over the girl's eyes before putting the herb directly under the girl's nose. The sharp smell had the same effect as smelling salts. The child woke still crying and gagging she looked around for a bit still wit tears in her eyes, they were continuing to fall.

Ulisa took the girl's shoulders in hers and said softly, "<Little one, what's wrong? You're safe. Your mother's here and so am I.>"
again the wails started, as she started to shake, I tried reaching out for her, but she batted them a way,

“Go away, leave” she started fighting within Ulisa's lap. Ulisa jerked startled at the girl's reaction, tightened her grip, holding the child immobile, centuries of fighting had given her strength that Cyanne had no hopes of matching

 

"Cy let us help you Sweetheart, it would help I spoke then told Ulisa I was going to get the child some water, as she was gagging again with only this time it was becoming raspy and hard.

 Ulisa nodded and looked at Cyanne and spoke, "Are you scared Cyanne or just trying to be brave? Now is the time to accept help." she gently wiped the girl's throat with some of the juice. Its smell and texture was known to soothe and relieve almost any discomfort

Not scared not brave, both, she whimpered

Then what's wrong?" Ulisa asked gently; having seen that Barbic tended to soothe the girl, she switched back to the mother tongue, "<Little one, you need to tell us. Did the night demons plague you tonight?>"

Have to be brave for sisters, scared them back to me those man." she then realized her sisters weren't in there,

<Chyanne! Melody!> She cried out

Ulisa gently stroked the girl's hair. "<Your sisters are fine little one. Do you want us to call them in here?>"

Setting down the water I told them that I would go get them. Knowing that it would help always did when one of them were like that.

 Ulisa said gently, "<Those men are gone...they aren't going to hurt you, or your sisters anymore little one or Eruta slice my life tree.>"

They come back I seed them,

"<In your dreams, small one?>"

She shook here head outside, before Peace came by the lake

I headed in carrying to half a sleep girls in my arms.

Ulisa's eyes narrowed and she handed the girl over to cling to her sisters. She stood, removed her hairpin, extending the sword but it was not dull, it was now razor sharp and it hummed a deep golden. She stormed outside and down towards the lake

I ran that way to see what was going on,

 Ulisa stopped down by the lake, near the very edge. She gazed at her sword which Selena saw had gone from a light gold tint to a dark yellow hum

 Hearing my daughters I ran back in, to see what was going on, they were huddled together tightly shaking. It's going to be alright, little ones, Ulisa's taking care of it right now, even as we speak, I told them trying to comfort

Ulisa! There's someone by the back of the house! The east side I called out I seen their shadows

I called out pulling the children into the passage and telling them to stay there, while I go and get the rest of the siblings and to stay quiet Lisa was way ahead of Selena, her sharp ears picking up the sound. Darting into a silent sprint, she darted around the side of the house and found herself face to face with a dark haired man. She held her sword out which now shimmered as bright as possible.

"This home has something that belongs to me," He hissed, "in fact four some things that belong to me."  Now tell me where they are he hissed

Ulisa was not shy about replying, "They are not yours. They belong to themselves and they are Selena's children. If you want them, you have to go through me." That said, she ripped off her nightshirt. As of habit, she wore a warrior uniform underneath her clothes at all times. Her feet shifted slightly and she lifted her sword, "I advise you to leave. Leave or fight" I'll leave after I get those good for nothing, worthless I don't know why my boss put up with, little Bitches"

He sneered pulling his own sword out. That did it for Ulisa. She swung her sword and the two clashed

He swung his foot out from underneath Ulisa knocking her to the ground,

 Ulisa, training from the time she was able to walk, did a back flip, landing on her feet and darted out with her sword again at a lightning speed. She was Buddi's daughter, granddaughter of Ursa Barbic...the human was good but he wasn't up to par with Barbic warrioress skills

As she charged, at him he growled "you may kill me, but there are others out here still looking for those for the experiments we have planned."

Ulisa snagged the man by his tunic, slamming him against the side of the house. She pressed the blade of her sword against his neck until it barely drew blood. But all humans were generally the same...when faced with death, they were scared and they cracked. This one was no different. Ulisa narrowed her eyes, "Where are these others?" her voice was colder than the breath of death itself

I'll die before I tell you that, I'm the only one that got this far, I've got the other half of their tracking, and it lead me here. The others might be awhile, but it's only a matter of time before they come. From inside, I was busy keeping the children all calm. Not an easy task I have to say, I told Darcy to keep one half busy while I get the other half.

Ulisa knew when she looked into this man's eyes that there was only one thing that would crack him. She hated to reveal much of her past to any human but she knew from their raid on the camp that these humans knew of her clan...they knew of Ursa. They feared her, as did all who knew of her. Darkening her eyes, she said softly, "And we will conquer them, one by one. I know of your people, human. You've heard of Ursa Barbic's clan..." the human paled visibly in the dark. Fear built on his forehead. Ulisa smirked, faintly, "I'm her granddaughter."

 

The next camp is about a ten day travel, from here, the main one I haven't got and idea where it is. I only work for the one, and I'm the only one with the tracking device

Give me the device," she hissed.

"Never in my life will I do that!"

I'm going to get those things and take them to my boss                                                             "You can give it to me or I can kill you and take it from your dead fingers...your choice the man just glared at her The Barbic hated to kill but she meant what she said. She released the man and before he could say a word, Ulisa swung her sword downward, severing his head from his body in a single blow

: Ulisa dug through the man's clothes, found several maps and the tracker. Heating up her sword, she took a second blow, releasing a wave of flameless heat. The body and head were incinerated and her sword clean and sterile in a moment.

He's gone?

Is it safe again around here?

Ulisa turned, shrank her sword, and stuck it back in her hair. "He's gone but there are others...but not for long. Selena....stay with your children...I'll be back.'

I nodded

Ulisa opened a time portal but not to the Ursalia that Selena knew; this one was more aged. Ulisa vanished into it and then reappeared, six grown Barbics behind her.

What's going on?  I asked, I looked at a couple I knew of Ursa is that you?"

"Little Buddi?

The Barbic nodded, "yes, the far future me. But I am quite capable still." The Barbic that Selena asked, a fully grown brown bear with a darker brown patch nodded in answer and nodded to the yellow Barbic female by his side, "My mate Sunni. You've met our daughter Ulisa. Meet our other daughter, Tobi...and our son, Warrior." He smiled at the six others. "And Ulisa's children

I nodded, as I heard Kenya calling from the doorway scared. I called her to me and picked the three year old up holding her close

You know all mine I take it

They all nodded. A Barbic that looked eerily like Ursa but just enough like Ulisa walked forward and touched Kenya's face, saying, "Don't be afraid little one." She lifted her head and Selena saw clouded pupils that did not focus. "Hello Selena, Mother has told you much of me I am sure. I am her youngest and last, Kati Barbic, third in command of this clan...Buddi my grandfather is second and Ursa was great grandmother is first. We've come to rid this world of these threats."

Please do, all these little ones are terrified at the moment,

"Mamma, Rei needs you!"

I sighed and said I'd be right back and asked Kenya if she would go to someone else real quick

They nodded and Ursa spoke out, to the red furred Barbic, "Reeni...do it." The young bearess wasted no time. She took a hold of the map Ulisa handed her and chanted something so quickly none caught it; Reeni was a sorceress as well as warrior. Seeing scared little Kenya, Psyche a indigo haired bearess knelt by her side

Kenya stared at her; you look like one of Mamma's friends go hold of you

Psyche smiled faintly and offered her hand to the girl

 the child shook her head and clung to me like nothing else, I looked at the Barbic in front, go ahead and pick her up, that's the only way I'm going to be able to do this Psyche gently scooped the girl up, gently humming a tune in her ear to calm her; Psyche was a natural mother

The child screamed and kicked as I headed inside to see what was going on. The child fussing was drawling her knees up to her belly in pain. This wasn't colic either I've see that, a few times around here,

Ulisa come here, real quick there really is something wrong with the baby

Ulisa ran up the stairs, as her clan started to split up in their various directions to go after their quarry. Only Psyche remained

"There was a strange smell before she started Crying," Joy told us

I was trying to calm the child by rubbing the belly of the infant, her twin never stirred as the screeching continued,

Ulisa gently picked the girl up Ulisa handed the baby back to Selena. "Magic...I have one more place to visit...I'll be back with help in a minute, Selena"

 I nodded in wonder

In a few minutes, there were two sets of feet on the stairs and behind Ulisa entered a pink Gummi, grown with long maroon hair with golden strips in it, three  I had to blink, this can't be the same little girl that chased Cubbi about is it?

Then just asked her to help the infant in my arms the girl, Tavi, fully grown nodded, "yes, he's my mate now." she took the infant, whispered some words and blew a golden mist over her small body. The cub stopped her wailing, yawned and went back to sleep. Tavi handed her back without a word

Skyla walked over to the infant who was laid in her crib with her twin, then walked over to Tavi and looked her up and down studying her

You look like my sister Tavi chuckled a bit, "do I now, little one?"

she nodded As Skyla motioned her down so she could get a look in here eyes better, as this was happening I told Ulisa that I think we would be fine and she could join up with her clan and do what she was going to do

Ulisa gave her a nod, "Don't worry Selena. We'll get rid of these threats. That's a promise and I always keep my promises." That said, she turned and head downstairs

I nodded and thanked her then turned back to my daughter watching to see what else she would do

 "Stay here I be back she told her

Tavi let Skyla explore her face, keeping her entertained with some small magic tricks in a second, Skyla came back with Joy,  "See!" she does look like you

Why is that?

Tavi chuckled, "Strange things happen, Skyla...I look like Cubbi and we aren't even related remotely...well, NOW we are because we're mated but now before

Sky baby, I think its time I tried getting you back to bed," she nodded her eyes dropping, but pushed me back a little, her do it

Tavi raised a brow, "Sky...can you say that a little nicer?" she stared at her a minute, questioning,

Tavi kneels, "it would be nicer if you would ask your Mother, "Mama, can she please put me to be instead?" it just sounds better." Skyla repeated what Tavi told her

Tavi looked to Selena to see what she would do

 That's fine with me if you want to put her to bed Tavi smiled and offered Skyla her hand as she stood

But Sky the next time I won't let her if you're demanding it like that

 The child took it and skipped off showing her where her room is Tavi gave Selena a wink as she was towed out

When Tavi came back, I asked does she seem like someone that would be related to you and Cubbi?

Tavi chuckled, "oh I know she is...she's one of our 10th great grandchildren (as in 10 greats, before the grandchild) sorry her brother's not here, he's in the past training with Plucki

She smiled, "I know."

Yeah he's a trip I'll tell you She smiled again, a motherly child, "trust me, I know." She patted her stomach a bit

I smiled as I heard of the news

Tavi just chuckled, "But I best get back to my time. Cubbi's definitely the first time father...you'd think I was made of glass.'

I understand hat one, thanks for the help, stop by again if you'd like

Tavi nodded, "I'd love to..." she paused. "And selena? Don't worry....my niece and her clan will handle these threats. By tomorrow morning, you need not fear them anymore"

 I'm glad; I told her looking around where my twins were sleeping. Tavi smiled a final time and then vanished in a shower of sparks

 

I walked around the house making sure everything was locked tightly so that nothing could get in. I noticed Psyche if she's getting to heavy you can put her in her room

Psyche shook her head, "no...She isn't. I was raised a Barbic...we're strong..." although it might be best to put her into Timmy's room

Would you like something to drink or anything that does not surprise me," the Barbic replied, "most Barbics are very tight with their siblings. I know I am with my 5...would have been with the last 2 as well

He's not here though he's in the past training under Ursa

She just feels more comfort there

Psyche nods, "Probably his scent"

yeah that's what I think and at least that's 2 cubs that I don't need to worry about for the moment  they're safe

Psyche nodded, "Mama had us a few years apart. I'm a few years older than Jacki and Ali. And those two are 40 years older than Kati

I nodded and took my sleeping daughter telling her I would be right back

Psyche nodded and waited patiently

When I came back I had Chace with me, he does not want to be alone right now

Psyche chuckled a bit, "so this is the Chace I've heard about"

Yeah he is why? What have you heard about?

She chuckled, "Grandpa told Mama and Mama told us. And when mama moved to the present, she told us when she gets to see us I see what she would tell you about Chace though "that's he switches between sweet and rambunctious

 Oh are you talking about Elliot?

I know he's like that but haven't know Chace to be like that yet anyways

 

She shakes her head, "No, although we heard about him too. Grandfather said that he seemed that way because sometimes he would love being with him but at others, he felt like he was going to go crazy

 I see

But then, Grandfather had no experience with babies true, and for some reason he fusses when he sees Buddi leave

 Psyche chuckled, "I know. May I hold him?"

Sure, I hear one of the others anyways

Psyche took Chace who immediately smelt a familiar odor about her, a scent similar to Buddi's no doubt  I came back with Bliss who looked at the girl puzzled I put her down, and asked if Psyche could keep and eye on here real quick the infants are all ganging up on me

 Psyche nodded, without a word, brushing through Chace's thick hair

I came back with my Barbic twins grateful that Sukura had yet to wake again. Here are two more babies to add the group, I told her heading into the kitchen to get a handful of bottles, coming back I handed each one

I know there are a lot of kids here, but one never gets lonely or board, and there's a lot of love around here Psyche smiled, "My sister Ali would love this. You will have to let her visit when this trouble is over with I nodded that would be fine, and there is one more infant that's not out here

You sound like my sister," Psyche said gently

what do you mean Psyche smiled and shook her head, "My sister Ali has 27 children, all by blood wow, all these are adopted, just as we were speaking a little blue streak flew past, I called out stop her

 Racing to the door

 Psyche nodded again, "she loves children...Nana called her nuts I get the same thing, I said trying to catch Shanda,  knowing where she was heading Psyche stood, called in an eerily calm voice, "Shanda stop it." the girl froze in her tracks

And turned I asked what are you running from? "The big kids won't let me play." I sighed "Shanda we've gone over this a million times, I told her slapping her backside, and telling her to get to her room and go to bed." "I'm sorry about that Psyche just nodded, "Some kids are like that. I know some of Ali's are...but for some reason my sister and I both have that very quiet voice that children like to obey for some reason I need something like that no one around here hardly pays mind to mine. She does that when she doesn't get her way, I would have just let her but not with all that's going on and I've been trying to stop that Psyche nodded, "Yes, eventually it will click with her"

  I hope so, and there's plenty of places in here she can go I told psyche as I took Bliss and pulled her into my lap Psyche nodded again, "My sister has always had the patience of a saint. They say she received it from our grandfather, Buddi...he was impatient as can be until he had his twins..." she chuckled, "then his world changed   I bet, cause mind did when I adopted Skyla As did my mother's when she had children," she sighed, "did she ever tell you why she left her clan?"  No she hadn't but I haven't asked either Psyche nodded, "it's a matter of great pain for her, but it is also why she may turn ruthless when it comes to protecting children'

I see I trust that

Psyche nodded, "but I feel I should tell you. Mother longs to but it's a matter of pain for her

Just then I turned seeing one of my twins bat the other with the bottle, "hey now Scarlet none of that

I see but isn't it something she should tell when she feels its time

 Psyche nodded, "yes, you're right...but I felt I should at least let you know that when she does decide to tell you, make sure the children are scarce."

That shouldn't be a problem she nodded again, "she'll tell you soon, trust me." the door was knocked upon then and the Barbics returned, worn, torn and tired but wearing the look of victory

"Mamma, Cyanne's crying again." I'll be right back I told Psyche while setting Bliss down

Psyche nodded again and greeted her clan

 I came back with a whimpering Cyanne clinging to me a bit,

Thanks guys for every thing.

Ulisa smiled at Cyanne, "They're gone for good, sweetie...a promise

Could I get you a something to drink or eat? I asked as Chace toddled right to Buddi looked at him and gave the loudest DDDDDIIIIIIII! He could give and raised his arms to him

Buddi chuckled and lifted the cub up, tossing him up, "I can't fool you, and no matter how old I am, can I?"

Chace just batted the others away and said "Mine"

And grabbed tight to Buddi

Buddi just rolled his eyes and said, "This sounds familiar...Ulisa did the same thing

I showed every one in and told them they could rest here for the time being, if they would like before heading home

 Ursa nodded, "thank you, I believe a few minutes rest would be much appreciated."

Chace tried to offer Buddi his bottle

Buddi just laughed and handed it back to him, "you keep it kiddo

Stay as long as needed I told them as he tried to stick the thing in Buddi's mouth, "eat DI ba ci"

Buddi just chuckled and said, "No thanks, why don't you show me how well you can eat it?"

"di ba ic," Chace said sitting down and started back on the thing again Buddi just shook his head and smiled at Selena

You know what he's calling you don't you Buddi

Buddi nodded. "I've had three kids and Gum knows how many grandchildren...I've learned to decode baby talk

you Di ba ci? He said before messing with Buddi's tunic a bit

Buddi just chuckled a bit and nodded, ruffling the kid's hair Does anyone want something to eat, I can get what ever you want  They shook their heads, "drinks are fine"

Alright, and Ursa looks like you've got company coming, I pointed to one of the twins that were heading over

 She smiled, "Hey little one," she scooped the girl up and cradled her, "I need to get used to it again anyway." she smiled at Psyche who caught Selena's glance and blushed, rubbing her stomach.

I smiled, it suites you I wish Timmy could see you guys like this right now he'd flip

Ursa chuckled, "trust me, he saw me bondy enough once

He has? OH boy He's now training with your past self

She nodded, "Yes and yes, he did see us get emotional." she smiled to Buddi

Oh great what was that like

Buddi chuckled as he rose with Ursa and the rest of his clan, "you'll find out soon."

I see I answered trying to take Chace from Buddi, "NO!" mine

Chace baby, he's got to go home

Buddi chuckled, "you'll see me again Chace...I promise."

no Di no go! Di no go

Buddi just ruffled the kid's hair, thumbed his nose and left quickly, followed by the rest of his clan

 I tried again, No mine, he said batting my hands away

Thanks again

"No problem." the cries of the little boy could be heard as he watched Buddi walk away

Ulisa sighed, "He'll cry it out, right? Because I should head home, unless Cyanne still needs me

Thanks again Ulisa for your help, he will sometime, and I think she'll be fine, she's sleeping for now I believe

All right, I look forward to seeing you again then..." she walked out the door, waved and then was gone from sight, into the portal

Same here and turned to the little ones and said all of you to bed,
