Sitting and watching
Elliot and Skyla play I noticed something was wrong, Elliot didn’t seem his
self. But kept going. I turned to the work in my
hands, no sooner that I had had started again, he climbed into my lap and
closed his eyes. This wasn’t like him at all normally the kid would have chosen
the time to start something, but he didn’t. I could feel the heat through his
clothing. I felt his head. He was burning up!
“Elliot, are you
alright?” I asked him as I woke him. He just moaned and curled up on my lap.
“Fycan
, Elliot?”
“He don’t think he’s well right now, Cy.” I answered seeing that
it was her that had asked. She looked at me not understanding to well. Timmy
started talking to her in Barbic. She nodded and took off out the room and
before I had a chance to get up and get him into bed. In her hands she had a wet
washcloth in her hands shoving me back into the chair she put the cloth on his
head. I watched her for a few minutes. From what I was seeing, is that these
girls had learned how to take care of others this way. I had never seen
anything like this. Then she pointed to the door, and like she was asking to go
away for a little bit.
“I don’t know
Sweetheart, Elliot’s sick, I really shouldn’t leave him.” Seeing she seemed to
know what she was doing even at her young age. I listened and asked Tanjia to stay with him and that I would be back as soon as
I can. Cy need me to do something.” She nodded telling
me she wouldn’t leave him until I got back. Cyanne
pulled me out the door and all the way to where the old camp was. She looked
around I still didn’t understand what she was doing. Finding something she picked it up, and took
me to where the porthole for Ursalia was and drug me through. I had no idea
still of what she was doing.
“Do not tell me you're
leaving another one with me.” Ursa said taking a good look at the child beside
me. Cyanne started speaking the only way she knew
how. Ursa nodded and ran to get Grubbi. I still had no idea what was going on.
Grubbi followed me and Cyanne back to the house. He
had never been in my home, but I took him to Elliot’s room and told Tanni she could go and thanked her. And
asked her if she could get him some soup or something. Ursa was behind
us the entire time watching what was going on. Cyanne
and Grubbi worked together mixing an herb that would ease Elliot’s fever.
Later he told me
that he believed that this little girl was going to be a healer herself. I
smiled at the thought, and told her how proud I was. Then told her that we
should let him sleep a little, and turned is intercom on so that I could hear
his every move.
“Ursa,” Timmy said
in shock seeing her standing there, then ran over hugging her. Ursa smiled glad
that Buddi wasn’t there to see that. I watched Timmy eye the sword on her side.
“I haven’t caused
anymore trouble, I’m good now.” He told her beaming.
“That’s good.”
“Where’s Buddi?”
“Home,”
“To bad, I wish he
could see my new room.” Ursa seeing the difference in the kid smiled more and
told him that he could go back and get Buddi and tell him that he’s able to
come here for a little while, he can.
“Ursa, why not have
Buddi bring a few things and have him stay with us for a few days.”
“Well I don’t know,…”
“Timmy would love
it, and Elliot will stay in his room until he’s well again. Both kids probably
would.”
Ursa looked at the
young boy who had learned to mimick Buddi’s look.
“The two of you
should get an award for that look.” Timmy ran out the door and down that hill
before anyone could change his mind.
“You won’t regret
it, Ursa.”
“I better not or you
fix it.” I nodded.
