“Elliot, I don‘t
want to know what that is in that sack, and I don‘t want to know what its for,
I‘ll I want is for you to take that back out!” I asked the small yellow cub as
he walked into the room with a sack that smelled horrible, it was making my
stomach turn with just the drifts that would catch my nose.
“Oh Mamma, its not,…”
“Young
Man! Unless you want a
spanking, I suggest you get that outside right now!” Knowing I meant business
since I don’t normally call the children young man, or Young Lady, he ran out
the door with the sack. I headed into the bathroom and drew the little boy a
bath, there was
no way he was going to walk around with what ever that was all over him like
that. I Then fetched him some fresh clothing.
“Get into the bath
please,”
“But I want to
play!”
“You can play after
your bath, now get in.” Elliot nodded and did as asked.
“Fycan!” I turned seeing Chyanne
behind me again asking to be picked up again.
“You cried just
little bit ago when I put you down so no, Anna, when I can put you down without
your throwing a fit then I’ll pick you back up. Tears filled her eyes. I sighed
and turned away, heading to pick up Chace who had
been getting into climbing a lot more lately. I peeled him off the counter
knob, where he had his left foot stuck on.
“Fycan!” Chyanne cried following me, “la’ka!
Fycan! La’ka!”
“nyie! Stop it Chyanne I’m
not going to hold you right now, go play with your sisters” I told her pushing her gently
towards the door. Then headed to the fridge that only had
bottles in it getting one for Chace that it was
getting low, and that the others were starting to need some more as well.
I wrapped a blanket around my son, and called to Tanni,
not even dealing with Darcy, telling her what I was doing, and who I had with
me so she didn’t panic.
As I was I was doing
the milking, Chace put his hands on mine. I had to
laugh.
“You wanna do some
milking yourself do you?” Chace grinned as I moved his
hands under mine so that it seemed that he was the one that was doing the work.
He laughed and squeal in delight doing this, but soon
lost interest and climbed down. And started towards where all the calves were,
“You be careful over
there, Chace.” I called keeping one ear and eye
opened to him. You really stirred things up with Ursa and Buddi when you stayed
with them didn’t you?” I not thinking to much about
it, That little toddler scrabbled out of the stalls calling,
“DI! DI! DI!” He
looked around the barn, not seeing anyone but us he sat down on the ground and
started to cry. Puzzled I couldn’t do anything but hold him while he fuzzed,
“DI” I still didn’t
understand what he was saying but knew it had something to do with the Barbics.
Still didn’t know what it was though. I hugged him close, as he started
whimpering the last two letters in Ursa’s name. I understood then, he must have
really grown attached to them. I then remembered the fit he made when I took
him out of Buddi’s arms. I noticed that he didn’t do that with Ursa just the
young boy. I had to smile at that though. Buddi was pretty good with the cub.
Thinking for a few minutes I spoke to the baby letting him know that we’d see
them again soon. Ursa was never away for to long, the infants did it for her,
plus the fact that Buddi likes to come and play with Timmy once in awhile.
My thoughts were
interrupted by a panic in a child’s voice from behind.
“What’s wrong, Joy?”
“Cyanne,
she’s got Timmy on the floor, again, he was picking on her, and this time he’s
bleeding!” She cried out. I sighed this had gone far enough. I had been trying to keep from
punishing the little girl since she had been through so much but this fighting
had go on long enough. I headed inside, and handed Chace
to Joy,
“Take him with you.”
She nodded. As I headed to my other two children.
“Timba Ian you know
better than to fight with someone like that, and someone younger is the worst
thing that you can do! I thought this fighting thing was done and over with!”
“I’m sorry Mamma!”
He said with his head hung.
“I bet you are. But
I see you still haven’t learned.”
“But I,…”
“NO YOU HAVEN’T!
Cause if you did! You wouldn’t be doing it now! Would you?” Timmy shook his
head no. Knowing what was coming he put his hands back behind him.
“Timba go onto your
room, I plan to make sure this doesn’t happen again and this time its going to stick.” He looked at me wide eyed.
“Your still getting
it, but you and I are going to talk more as well now get!”
I ordered adding a hard smack to his backside . Then looked to Cyanne who backed up with
fear in her eyes.
“Cyanne,
come here“ I still had the firmness in my voice but I
pulled her into my lap to reassure her for the moment. As I
thought it over.
“I let you off the
hook for this twice before, I can’t do that this time, your brother’s being punished for it, and it wouldn’t be fair if I didn’t do the
same to you.” She looked at me the fear still in her eyes. I knew though that I
would go a little easier on her, just give it enough
that it would get the point across. Afterwards I held her to me for a few minutes
letting her see that everything was still alright between us.
“Now I want you to
go get into your bed, do not come out until tomorrow do you understand. Timmy’s
was a bit different this time on top of the spanking and grounding, and chores
and lecture, he had to write ‘I will not fight 100 times, and also an essay on
why he should not fight his siblings. I also let him know that this is the last
time he fights, and if he did again I wouldn’t permit him to go train in the
summer, and I would take all his weapons away from him for good.
