To her surprise,
Buddi was training before she even had a chance to get her own workout started.
“What are you doing
up Young Man?”
“Couldn’t sleep.”
“Not a good answer,
get yourself back to bed.” Buddi just rolled his eyes and continued his own
workout. Not liking the fact that she was being disobeyed at the moment, and
the sun not even being up. Ursa walked over to the cub,
“Buddi Barbic I said
get yourself back to your bed!” He just stared at her. “NOW!” Not wanting to
make her madder Buddi stopped and headed off. But not to his room, but outside,
and headed deep into the woods.
“Hi Hi!” Ursa was greeted as she headed back into her own room
where Chace had been sleeping. He raised his arms up
and asked to get out of the old make shift Crib that had once also been used
for Buddi while he was a baby as well. She pulled the little one out of his
bed, and took care of the other needs before setting him on the floor telling
him that they should go get some breakfast. She laughed at the toddler’s
running as she caught up to him. Seeing that Buddi had not gone to breakfast,
she told everyone to go ahead and eat, she would be back later. Walking into
the bedroom, she noticed that he wasn’t there, in fact Buddi’s bed hadn’t even
been slept in. This made Ursa see red. She headed out to the dinning area
telling them what was up. Instead of going after him which was her first
impulse, she stayed behind deciding that she was going to let him come to her.
And when he did he would regret his wondering off like that.
One the other side
of the Gulge Buddi had found himself a little hiding
place and had curled up and had been sleeping, he slept onto what might have
been noon, once he realized where he was. He winced knowing what he may be in for when he got back. Even so he
was still mad at her, and stayed for a little longer. Before he started heading
back. Buddi slipped into his room through the bedroom window, and sat on his
bed, not realizing that his door was now open. Not until Chace
had wondered into his room.
“Di!”
Chace called out running to the older Barbic cub, and
asked Buddi to pick him up. It seemed as if the toddler himself was trying to
hide from some miss deed that he had done. That’s when Buddi noticed that the
child had and an old locket that had never been worn, but had been given to
Ursa, Grubbi had given it to her, on her sixteenth birthday, it had been her mothers,
although she herself hadn’t worn it either. Buddi chuckled as he took it from
the child.
“Ursa finds out you
have this, she’ll flame you for sure kid.” Chace said
nothing but nuzzled himself into Buddi’s chest and closed his eyes. Buddi
smiled as the child did this.
“So you came back,
Buddi.” Buddi put his finger to his lips
“How dare you after
what you did this morning!” Buddi did it again this time also pointing to the
toddler who had fallen asleep.
“He somehow got a
hold of this.” Buddi said the priceless object to the woman. Ursa looked to her
hand then back at Buddi.
“You know, Buddi I
should give you the paddling of a life time for your disappearing don’t you?”
Buddi turned white as he nodded,
“Your still grounded
but, I’ll let the other part slip as long as you keep an eye on this little guy
while I train.” Buddi agreed before she could change her mind.
